Paylow Liquor & Beer Wine — Local services in Cockrell Hill

Stopped by this store randomly. It smelled a little off, but I decided to browse the store anyway. The woman at the counter kept watching me, but I work in retail and I had a tote bag so I figured “sure she’s making sure nothing gets stolen.” When I approached the counter to buy something, she kept watching in a weird way that made me very uncomfortable. I assumed to see my ID, but she kept trying to look inside my bag and then told me big bags are not allowed (there are no signs outside of the door stating that). She then outright asked me to look into my bag in which I asked her if she is accusing me of stealing and she said no (which, if someone accuses you of stealing, is a lawsuit). She kept telling me no big bags are allowed. I asked for my card back and that I would be spending my money somewhere else and she did not want to give me my card back until I asked her a second time. This behavior...

DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Very rude and prejudice towards the black community. I have never been treated worse at a convenience store. Me and some of my models met up to do a photoshoot at a location near by we didn't disturb anyone no loud music we barely spoke. The owner was upset and said to come back on a less busy day we came back the next morning. No one was there!!! 5 of my people went into the store and bought bottles and snacks went to the parking lot was just sitting there talking and they called the cops on us twice 😂 it wasn't a problem when they were taking our money. Cops were super nice and didn't have a problem with us there even waited around the second time until we were finished. Usually service is decent for a neighborhood liquor store, however, today I literally walked in to see the pricing for the Stella Rosa Wines to compare with Total Wine and immediately walked out. The guy behind the register literally runs after me and all I had on me was my wallet and phone. Being a black woman shouldn't be reason enough to call someone back into the store. I called his store as soon as i drove off to let him know that I was in a hurry but that it was very rude to do such a thing to a repeat customer and he hung up in my face.
