Working with Kayleigh was equal parts heartbreaking, frustrating, and baffling. We trusted her to capture an important day in our life, and instead as soon as the money was transferred, she became absolutely awful to work with. In short, she disrespected us as people, our values and vision, and was completely uninterested in doing what she could to make it right. She broke my heart, wasted my time, and caused so much pain.
We hired her for photography, light planning, & and furniture rentals. This is the review I wish I had read as a bride before deciding to hire her. I would not under any circumstances work with her again.
The top three things I wish I knew before hiring her were:
She doesn’t know how to put the wishes of her clients above her own.
Communication is not one of her strengths. She was exasperated, distracted, and seemed upset to see us at every meeting. She made us feel like an inconvenience to her, not a respected client. She didn’t answer our questions directly, and instead responded with judgment and shamed us repeatedly. Multiple times I had to be very strategic about how I talked to her because I was afraid she would sabotage our wedding. She didn’t listen to what was important to us, she didn’t care about our vision, and she fought our design choices every step of the way. She treated us like we were beneath her and frequently talked down to us and didn’t respect that this was our wedding. Because she didn’t listen to what was important to us, we were very disappointed when we got our pictures back. She missed many of our favorite moments and what was most important to us. Several times, she missed things we specifically asked for. Getting your wedding pictures back is supposed to be a happy thing. With Kayleigh, it was a massive headache bordering on nightmare. In addition to missing many of our important moments, she refused to give us requested images in color, edit out blurry grass covering our family portraits, and retouch the images to include the blue sky. She wanted to charge us an additional $500 to perform basic edits, leaving us with pictures we are not satisfied with. When things started to go south on both ends of our relationship, she offered to refund us the $500 allocated for the wedding album + USB + wooden box. However, she refused to send us this money unless we signed a contract amendment saying we would not share our negative experience with her. As of 3/25/23 she refunded the money (a week after posting this review).
Everything will be late.
She showed up late to multiple meetings, to set up the day before, and on the day of the wedding. She also delivered our sneak peak, gallery, edits, and damage deposit weeks late. (It took 50 days late for the damage deposit, 24 days for the sneak peak, 133 days for the gallery, 77 days for 4 edits, and she refused to complete the additional edits we requested.) She overbooks herself and then hides behind her busy schedule.
She will be your biggest stressor of your entire wedding experience and break your heart multiple times by the end of it.
We hired her to make our wedding easier – she made it so much harder in every way she could. By the end of our experience working together I couldn’t even look at my photos without being sad and angry. She was incredibly rude to our family, our friends, and our vendors (so much so that everyone commented on how negative and difficult she was). We had to take time out of our getting ready to vent about how hard it is to work with her, in addition to a plethora of times we had to juggle being afraid of upsetting her at the expense of her ruining our wedding. I seriously considered taking her to court and the only reason I didn’t is because I am tired of using my time and energy on this. She doesn’t deserve anymore of my time; she’s already done enough harm.
I truly hope that sharing this helps to inform future couples so that they don’t experience the same...
Read moreThere are really no words to describe how wonderful Kayleigh is and how special she made our day with her talent. I was very nervous about finding someone who could deliver on my vision of our special day, halfway across the country. Especially, knowing that I wouldn’t ever meet with them in person before our wedding day. I had several phone meetings with different planners/photographers but right when I started talking to her on the phone I knew she was the one! Kayleigh honestly felt like a close friend who somehow knew everything I envisioned, and to this day, I still consider her to be that!
In a photographer, I was looking for someone that made myself and my husband feel comfortable while being photographed intimately. Be able to capture the love and family union during that day. She did all that and more! In a wedding planner, I wanted to create a closeness so they would be able to bring my intimate wedding week/day dreams to life. She delivered much more than I could have ever expected. Lastly, in a designer/rental partnership I had a very specific idea on how I wanted our wedding reception to feel and look with two families coming together as one. I knew I was already up a creek without a paddle being all the way in Georgia and our wedding destination being Montana but WOW when I saw the reception for the first time it was like she made my Pinterest board come to life! Absolutely perfect in every way! I’m so many ways she just made our day better than I could have ever known. With her experience, knowledge and expertise she knew how to add the perfect touches here and there. I could recant so many but one I’ll cherish forever was her advice to do a first look with my father though I had decided against it. The picture attached just shows how special that moment truly was. And I owe that all to her! Simply put, she made my wedding dreams come true! I wish every day that I could relive that day and it’s largely in part because...
Read moreMy husband and I are truly thankful for the incredible support Kayleigh provided during our wedding this past summer! Her remarkable talent and creativity brought our dream wedding to life amidst the scenic beauty of rural Wyoming. Kayleigh successfully coordinated the entire day, skillfully navigating complex family dynamics, and going above and beyond to help us stay calm despite COVID challenges and other last-minute chaos on our end. Her offerings through Wild West collective are GORGEOUS and the way she put everything together turned out exactly how we had hoped. Working with her as a photographer as well made the whole weekend run smoothly and allowed for a streamlined planning experience too. Our unforgettable special day would not have been possible without Kayleigh's extraordinary dedication and...
