Meijer — Local services in Coldwater

OMG 😳 I had just woke up one morning went to Meijer was early and didn't realize it wasn't paying any attention didn't notice a lady came out the door with a box of donuts woohoo okay so that got my attention so I was friendly to her I said oh time to make the donuts and she was friendly back you know so I didn't think that none of it the automatic door I thought was out of order so I pushed the outside door open it came open and then the next door automatically opened I'm heading towards the restroom when all of a sudden this manager I say this lightly comes running towards me and he's on the phone and he says you can't be in here we're not open we're not open yet and I said oh I'm sorry I said I didn't notice he said that's what the signs on the door say he said it very rudely and so he goes yeah you got 5 minutes or 10 minutes I said yeah I just came in to use the restroom we were there to cash cans in and so I walk out I go to the vehicle lo and behold next thing I know the police pull up I guess they thought I was a homeless lady because of the way I was dressed I guess this pisses me off I'm getting so tired of people judging and I've noticed it's more the older I get I will never ever go to another meijer's. The condition of the fish tanks at this Meijer has been steadily declining, with little attention given to maintenance and the well-being of the fish. The Betta tanks, in particular, are in the worst state I've ever seen. I've purchased fish here multiple times, but the experience has become increasingly frustrating. It's often difficult to find someone to assist me in getting the fish I want, and when I do, some employees seem visibly aggravated, as if I'm inconveniencing them by asking for help. They act as though stopping what they're doing to assist me is a burden, which is disappointing, to say the least.

Granted, I usually don't get to Meijer until later in the day, so I can't speak for the first shift. However, if proper care were being taken throughout the day, the tanks wouldn't be in such poor condition. There's so much neglect happening that it feels borderline abusive to the fish. I'm not expecting perfection, but this is unacceptable. As much as I'd hate to see them go, perhaps it would be better for this store to stop selling fish altogether if they can't provide a humane environment for them.

Update 8/21/25: Still finding expired products:/ This time I went to the service desk to ask if I could place an order and I was told no. The 2 ladies said that the product won’t even be removed from the shelf until the end of the month and the reorder will take a week thereafter. I guess I’ll be back to see if that’s true. Watch the expiration dates. Over my last few visits I have found multiple different products EXPIRED AND STILL ON THE SHELF. •Blakes Strawberry Lemonade expired by a few days. I actually moved 2 of them to the corner of the cooler and noticed they were still there days later when I had gone back. •Country Fresh Whole Milk half gallon today 7/26 on the shelf and already expired. •Late July Salsa Medium expired 6/25/25 and I had just gotten it just before 7/4 for a party.
