This is probably the worst chinese restaurant I have ever patronized and is deserving of a zero star review. I placed my order online Sunday evening at 9:22 and received an email confirmation that it would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived at China1 at 9:45. The only person in the restaurant was a young girl about 10 years old running the place. She confirmed my order and processed my credit card without any issues. I asked how much longer and she told me just a few minutes. I sat down and waited. The young girl then called someone and had a very heated phone conversation that involved a lot of screaming and yelling from both parties. At 9:57, 3 minutes before closing, a woman came in and apologized to me for something which I couldn't understand. She then went behind the counter and began screaming and yelling at the little girl. The two of them went at it for about 5 minutes at the top of their lungs just yelling and screaming at each other. The woman then turned on the hood fans. This was when I realized that my order hadn't even been started yet. After about 15 minutes of banging some pots and pans around my order was completed, bagged, and another apology provided. The food was pathetic. The chicken fried rice was merely some slightly yellow colored rice with some plain chicken chunks. The chicken egg foo young was nothing more than some overly cooked scrambled eggs with more plain chicken chunks. And the gravy sauce was horribly disgusting and inedible. The general tso chicken was at best nothing more than mediocre. I'm actually surprised that neither myself nor my family got sick from eating this disastrous meal. This place has absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever! China1 should be avoided like the plague. I know that I will never darken their door ever again. And I highly recommend that no one else...
Read moreI wish I could give a good review for this place but I cannot. The restaurant is in serious need of TLC. I really wanted American Chinese and this is the only place in town for as far as I can tell. I moved to Coldwater less than a month ago so maybe I am missing something. Anyway, I checked the website and it stated they were open until 10 pm. I work until 9pm and ended up placing my order at 9:32 pm. The site stated my order would be ready at 9:54pm. I've ordered from American Chinese restaurants many times and the food is always ready withing 15 minutes. 10 minutes later I have 4 messages stating the restaurant is closed. I called back and said their website states 10 pm and I was already on my way to pick up my order. I got to the place at 9:52 pm and all I can make out from the woman behind the counter is "closed". I walk out 10 minutes later with my order and an irritated little Asian women fuming behind a counter. I don't think she understands that if their website states they are open until 10 pm than people can still do pickup orders before closing. If they don't want people placing orders after a certain time so they can close earlier, then they need to state that on the website. The place and it's employees look tired. The food was of average ingredients and quality. Nothing special and kind of bland. I won't do business...
Read more$69 for 2 adults and 3 SMALL KIDS ALL UNDER 10 for food so overcooked my daughter had to spit her meat out so she wouldn't choke on it. Nothing was hot or fresh, it was very bland, and the choice selection was very skimpy. The waitress never gave us a refill and certain things were a little undercooked as well, like the shrimp. When I approached the manager about my concerns he told me, "Those were his prices and rent needed to be paid!" Which is true, but still very unprofessional. Then once I get to the front to pay, I am signing the receipt and I noticed I was actually charged $71.72. So I asked why the price is different and was told there's a $2 charge to pay with a card and he points to a sign. MOST PLACES tell you about the charge before you pay, especially since the sign was very tiny posted at the bottom of a window. I assume the guy was mad. My family left still hungry and unsatisfied, we literally couldn't eat anymore of it. The food was GROSS!!! There was also a sign up that my daughter read to me asking all customers to only get what they can eat and not to waiste food. IF I AM PAYING $15.05 FOR A BUFFET MEAL ON A THURSDAY NIGHT (that's weekend prices), I WILL GET WHATEVER I WANT. AND IF YOUR FOOD WAS ENJOYABLE MAYBE CUSTOMERS WOULDNT EAT MORE THAN THEY WAIST!!! Alex, was the name of the guy that...
