Bénie's Hair Braiding — Local services in College Park

Picture this. You’re hungry but the 5 star restaurant is 3 miles away the fast food restaurant is down the street. Do yourself a favor and go the extra mile or two and then thank me later. To sum up Benie’s hair braiding in one word I’d have to use: Quality. Benie was quick and efficient whilst being caring of the treatment, sensitivity, and simple style I wanted for my hair. My hair’s very soft and doesn’t hold braids well if it’s blow dried. Benie took the time to listen to me and didn’t try to challenge my request to not blow dry my hair. She gently combed out sections and braided my hair, without the blowdryer, but still made sure to secure the braid (not painfully) to last given my hair type. Benie braided one braid and was patient for me to confirm if the braid was to the thickness and length I wanted without moving on until I was sure. That kind of attentiveness is invaluable and will bring me back in for a touch up in 6 weeks as recommended. The shop and quality of customer service brings me back to being a young girl in a African braiding shop with ladies that genuinely care about how you feel when you leave the shop. I am usually one of those people who only writes reviews when I don't like the service. This time, I decided to be fair and compliment the great service I received at Benie's hair braiding. I had started out by going to Nadine's, but the wait was going to be long (1.5hrs to 2hrs), not only that, when I had called, the person who answered ( I believe was Nadine) was so rude. She replied " I am not front desk, I do not work for front desk maam". I was confused because this was the number provided online,, so how would I have known it was not front desk? Immediately, I asked my friend for a recommendation and she sent me to Benie's. As soon as I called to see if she had an opening, I felt at home. I had never met her, but she was pleasant, playful and funny over the phone. I knew right away that we would get along. As soon as I got there, my daughter was placed in a seat and attended to Immediately. The price was fair and hair came out great, more beautiful than I expected. She put her personal touch with a dash of passion into it. My daughter absolutely loved her hair and so did I. Let's just say, I found my daughter a new beauty home....

I love love love the customer service they provide here and the owner Benie herself, she is an amazing charismatic queen who has the best heart and gave me confidence and care through my hair and for my soul too. The environment is so clean and peaceful. She offers you snacks and accommodates you with comfortability throughout the whole service. Now the work itself is LITERAL Gods work because the parts are so crisp, there isn't a hair out place, she blends my dyed hair perfectly with the hair she provided I might add. The style that she gave me lasted two months and STILL looked amazing. She brings your hair vision board to life and makes it even better than you imagined. I found my home salon and I'm officially obsessed so much so I'm back in the chair...
