I went to Ursinus College to attend a 7 on 7 football tournament my son was performing in while representing his high school. This was an extremely large event, with many teams playing at many different fields scattered around the huge campus. Being handicapped, this made getting around VERY difficult. I walk with a cane, and trying to navigate uneven pavement, ground covered in rocks, hills, stairs, and steep inclines, was extremely difficult. However, there were employees of the college driving around in quads and cabodas. One person, who I did not know, actually stopped a driver, and asked if she could assist me. The driver stated, "no I have something to do". Another person asked another driver if they could assist me, and this time the answer was a flat "no". These areas where the games were being played offered zero seating. I actually missed a few of my son's games, as the incline to the field he was playing on was so steep, I risked physical injury by attempting to climb down. Interestingly enough, I did observe these same drivers assist their colleagues with rides around the campus, but at no time did I ever observe them stop and ask any handicapped people if they needed assistance, as there were numerous people in more obvious need than me. This was truly disturbing to see, and quite honestly upsetting. The heat and humidity did not help, yet nothing was done to help or accommodate those in need of assistance. Needless to say I will never attend any function at this College again, no matter what the event. The organizers should be ashamed of themselves, these drivers should be ashamed of themselves, and the College Board should be made aware of the terrible way handicapped people were treated...
Read moreI am a student here. My boyfriend attends Ursinus as well. This school is by far the most messed up and harmful institution. This college is unlike any other place. It's not a matter of the heavy work load. No matter how hard you try to excel in this school, there are no second chances. If you have mental health issues, you won;t be able to get any sort of support. If you are trying to look out for yourself and your happiness, you can not and should not ever attend Ursinus College. The student culture is absurd (sexual harassment and underage drinking) and the school does not care if you are unhappy or are struggling with your school work. No one helps me or my boyfriend and we truly want to be happy. This review does not come out of angst or immature anger. This opinion comes from the experience I have had here. It is a terrible heartless place and, for the well-being of yourself or your child who is applying to colleges, PLEASE do not do this nor apply. It is guaranteed that if you are having a hard time with your work, they will NOT help you in any way. If you are unhappy and/or dealing with depression, anxiety etc. DO NOT ATTEND...
Read moreComing from a student who originally wanted to be here at this school, I can honestly say that this is absolutely a horrible college. The teachers for the Freshmen Level Classes (Especially Biology) barely care about your well being as well as how you do in their classes, offering little to no assistance. The food is very mediocre. After attending this college for a single semester I can guarantee you this is by far the worst colleges. In addition to the academics, the views of the people and students living here are very far left. So if you even if you are slightly conservative, be wary of the havoc that will ensue if you attend this place.
Update: I now attend a SUNY School in New York and couldn't be happier. Truly visit the campus several times before you really think...
