I’ve had two very rude experiences here with Valerie. I see other reviews saying the same thing. On their big store anniversary sale she was incredibly hostile but I chalked it up to them being stressed out with the crowd. Today I brought in a return with my receipt, before I even get a word in she snaps “well you need the credit card”… well obviously, all returns work that way. I give her the card and say I didn’t like the product, tried it and repacked it in pristine condition so they could resell it. She insists that I’m just using it wrong and that I must’ve had the wrong size. I said nope I did it correctly I’m just not going to use it and the girl that checked me out when I bought it even said that a lot of people return it. She was visibly pissed off that I was returning something that was a whopping $22. It was so hostile for what should’ve been a very easy return for them. It was as if she took it personally that I didn’t like the product. We live next to a Petsmart but drive 15 mins to go here because it’s a small business but her attitude makes me not want to make the effort to come back.
The pros: •Generally competitive prices; most things are a few dollars off from Amazon/Chewy but other toys are sometimes literally double the price to the point where you wonder if they marked it wrong. • every other worker particularly the male employees are incredibly friendly and are genuinely excited to help you and your pet. Tons of selection for a...
Read moreI went to Perk Valley Pet Eatery after being told my dog had lymphoma and 4-6 weeks left to live after his lymph nodes in his beck became extremely enlarged . At a loss of what to do I went into the store to ask if there was anything that I could do diet wise to give my dog more time. The owner (Gordon) gave me all kinds of information regarding a holistic diet for dogs suffering from cancer. He recommended a special dog food and not only that everyone in the store was beyond kind and compassionate.
Luckily we ended up doing a surgical biopsy to further determine the extent of my dogs cancer, it turned out that he did not have the lymphoma they thought he had but a rare form of it that doesn’t spread. We did further testing of his blood count levels (which will have to be watched from here on out) he is in the range of a healthy dog without cancer. He will be on his new holistic dog food from here on out. People have even commented that his lymph nodes appear to be shrinking (something that should not be possible) Perk valley pet eatery is a wonderful place filled with experts and...
Read moreMy sensitive anxious dog was having food issues and with the guidance of our vet, I went to PVPE yesterday to try and work through some new food options. We have been happy customers of theirs for 3.5 years since we got our sweet rescue and they have always gone above and beyond to support, offer information and suggestions and be honestly invested in our dog's wellbeing. The store is welcoming, clean and prior to lockdown, used to be one of our favourite pet-friendly places to browse, especially the treats section. While they may not be priced the same as the Goliath pet stores you know well (online and actual stores), the prices are absolutely competitive, they offer great weekly/ monthly promotions and fun events for pets. Plus, their warmth and kindness are worth paying those few extra cents more. I know they worked SO hard to stay up, running and accessible throughout the pandemic, and if you have a chance, please visit them (with your leashed pet) and help them continue to thrive. They make shopping local a no-brainer....
