First off, let me say the food and the beer here are very good. We are, however, very disappointed in the management and overall communication/professionalism when trying to book a private party for our rehearsal dinner. We had some email correspondences with one of the owners which led to viewing a potential space (currently a large storage room) they were planning on renovating to be ready for football season (end of July/August). For the next 9 months, the owner continued lead us on when we would send an email every few months checking on status of the work and ensuring the space would be ready in time for our October date. We consistently had to reach out to him and he never once reached out to us to update on delays, etc. Since my in-laws live significantly closer they began dropping in as our date got closer (July/August) to check on progress. After stopping by in July they asked the owner to provide an update at the end of August, which he never did. They went in today and needless to say this space will not be done in time (and is far from being done) and we are now finding a rehearsal dinner venue less than 6 weeks from our date. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of regard for our time and our event and continuously being led on to think this venue could host our event (which we were very excited about having there). We would have appreciated realistic updates and being upfront when it became clear that they would be unable to host our event. Instead, we had to track down management and ask to see the room several times to make that determination...

Lunch was so great, we ended up coming back the following day for brunch. The lunch service on Saturday was excellent even when the restaurant was unexpectedly slammed with people from a soccer tournament. Jennifer was an excellent bartender! We had the French onion mac n cheese and the brisket quesadilla. The mac n cheese sounded different and I really didn’t know what to expect, but it was probably the best mac n cheese I’ve ever had. Anyone that makes anything with brisket should take lessons from Troubles End on how to cook brisket. It was perfectly cooked.

For brunch, we had French onion soup, chicken and waffles, pork roll, egg and cheese eggrolls and the general tso fried chicken sandwich. The French onion was good but not my favorite. The crispy parmesan cheese on top was a bit hard to break up. The waffles were mushy on the chicken and waffles. The eggrolls were ok but nothing exciting. I took a chance with the general tso sandwich because I couldn’t imagine what those flavors combined would taste like. Not my cup of tea. I’m not a huge fan of kimchi, so maybe that’s why I didn’t care for it. It seemed like too many flavors combined…sweet, savory and sour all in one. Didn’t work for me.

The beers were good but we only tried the Voces Chorum and Eyes to the Skies. Both were good if you like sours. The Voces Chorum kind of tasted like a sour mixed with wine.

Overall, if we’re ever near by, we’ll definitely be going back because there were a lot of other things on the menu we wanted to try. It would have been 5 stars if we had liked the...

Troubles End Brewing delivers on every front—great food, excellent beer, and a laid-back but lively atmosphere. The menu has a creative mix of elevated pub fare, and everything we tried was solid. The Nashville Chicken Eggrolls were a standout (crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat), while the Smoked Brisket Reuben disappeared from our table almost instantly. The Pickle Brined Chicken Wings were good but wouldn’t be my first pick next time, and the Bratwurst Sliders, while delicious, reminded me that my body no longer appreciates greasy food the way it used to. Live and learn.

The beer selection is top-tier, with something for every taste. I went with a Saison, and it was one of the best I’ve had—bright, balanced, and packed with flavor. The service was also excellent. The staff was fast, friendly, and had great recommendations for both food and drinks. You can tell they know their menu well and actually care about making sure you enjoy your experience. The layout of the space is cool, with a modern-industrial feel, plenty of room to hang out, and a bar area that doesn’t feel cramped. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few hours, have a great meal, and enjoy a few drinks without feeling rushed.

Overall, Troubles End Brewing is a fantastic spot for a night out with friends. Whether you’re here for the food, the beer, or just a good place to catch up and hang out, it checks all the boxes. Heads-up: the kitchen closes at 9, but the bar stays open until 11—though we didn’t test that part....

Out to Ursinus for a college visit for my son. After a couple hours of walking the campus we were ready for something to eat and drink. TEB was only a few minutes away and had pretty good reviews so we decided to try it out. If this is your first time here the entrance isn't exactly obvious. There is a large main building but there are multiple businesses onsite. There is outdoor seating but we were perhaps early for that. After entering the main door go up a set of stairs for the restaurant entrance. It was late afternoon and only a few people were in the brew house so we were seated right away. If you've been to a brew house, any brew house, you know what to expect. Wide open, visible distilleries, a scent of old beer... comes with the territory. The food menu is done with QR codes, the food itself was pretty typical for this type of restaurant but with a twist. I tried the fried cauliflower and it was fabulous! I also had the General Tso's chicken sandwich, like I said typical with a twist. The beer list was pretty extensive, I only tried one beer but it was very good. Our waiter was on point, helpful and available without being too much. Price is inline with the food, overall a very good experience.
