I brought my engagement ring here to get repair estimate. The owner quoted me $195. I had hit my hand on a table, and in the process it knocked the center stone crooked, and lost one of the small diamonds in the halo. I wanted to shop around a bit more, but was dragging my feet, so my fiancé went in, nnot realizing I had already gotten pricing there, and the owner quoted him $95. Weird. When my fiancé dropped my ring off, he was told it would be done in two days. So, two days later when we had not received any word, we called and it wasn't done yet, but they said it would be done first thing in the morning. The next day we did not recieve a call, so we called them mid morning, and surprise! It wasn't going to be done that day, and they were going to be closed the next two days. Never mind it was already two days past the original finish date, but now instead of staying and just getting it done, it would be at least three more days until I got it back! Not like we had a choice, because the ring was taken apart at this point. So, after those two days, we were right back on the "it'll be done tomorrow" pattern. Finally we got it back 9 days later, with the employees initiating NO contact. They never took the initiative to call us and give us a heads up that the ring wouldn't be ready. Then when I picked it up, the guy working (the one who actually did the repairs) tried to tell me that it took him so long because the stone was cut poorly, which is just offensive. The stone is beautifully cut. He also added FOUR more prongs around the stone without notifying us that was his plan, and it's still sitting askew. So, based on that, I did not plan on doing any more business there. But my fiancé happened to be right by there, and needed a new battery in his watch, so he thought they could do it quickly. Nope. They said they'd give him a call, and it would be done in 30minutes. No call came, no surprise. So my fiancé just called at 530, and it was not done, and apparently they didn't have the tools to do it. Horrible customer service, horrible work. Unless you enjoy getting jerked around and wasting your time, find a...
Read moreI have never posted a review online before. But, I've never been treated so rudely before either! So, it goes without saying that I don't even mind that I can't figure out how to remove my name. Today, I went in to have earrings posts replaced. The girl at the counter brought them into the back to see about it. The place isn't sound proof and I clearly heard them discuss in disgust "we don't do those kinds of posts". Clearly a misunderstanding as clerk was then being shown how to look up the price in a book. All that was fine. This elderly couple walked out of the back during this exchange and remember thinking "how adorable, they remind me of my in-laws." As the female owner (I assume) was helping the clerk understand the process, I walked over to them. The owner told me the price, stating it all had to do with the cost of gold. I explained they were platinum, because not knowing anything about jewelry, I didn't know if the type of post had to be the same as the setting. Not only did the elderly gentlemen huff, but so did the owner. At this point, I figured I'm in the wrong place for me. So, I started picking up my earrings and preparing to leave. I thanked her and then explained that we weren't a fit. "It doesn't look like you do this often, so I'll try someplace else." She started yelling at me telling me that they have been in business for 35 years, they clearly know what they are doing. And that I came in with a chip on my shoulder. Words were exchanged and I turned to walk away. The elderly woman asked if I needed a tissue which was very confusing to me. She explained so I could whip the chip off my shoulder. Ok, these guys might be awesome for their long term customers. But, they apparently don't want or need...
Read moreThis is the worst jeweler I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. I brought a 14k gold chain that needed link repair. When I first walked into the establishment, I should I have walked right out. The man behind the counter was the most customer unfriendly person I've ever dealt with. The price to fix the chain was unbelievably high, but since I am not familiar with jewelers in the area I left it with him on a Saturday morning. I called him a week later on a Saturday and he said the chain was in the jewelry cleaner and had not yet been done. I asked why it was not done after a week and asked him what his hours were. He said they closed at 3pm on Saturday, but said the chain needed to be soldered and would be ready in 20 minutes. I asked him if the links were going to be fixed or just melted together. I've seen work where it looked like that so I wanted to ask about it. He told me that if I"m not going to be happy to come and get the chain. When I got there, he took the little plastic case my chain was in the slammed it to the counter and said "I don't have to fix your chain." The kicker was that I gave in a chain in ONE PIECE AND HE GAVE IT BACK TO ME IN TWO PIECES. HE SAID IT WAS WORN OUT AND BROKE IN THE JEWELRY CLEANER. There was another customer there and I hope she...
