second time staying at this hotel and second time no housekeeping in a 4 day stay. we pay the same rate as we did in 2019 but suddenly housekeeping is such a hard and convoluted concept for this property. in July I stayed here and they informed me that they only do housekeeping every other day. so I waited. the next day i stopped off at the desk and they assured me they would stop by. at 3:30 pm i came back to the hotel and they said they were still servicing rooms. at 4:30 i went back to the desk and they said everyone had gone home for the day. ||This trip I was here over thanksgiving until friday. On Wednesday I asked for housekeeping at the front desk. they informed me that they only do housekeeping every other day which would be Thursday. once again I waited until the next day. thursday morning i stopped by the desk to get housekeeping. they informed me there is no housekeeping on thanksgiving day. ||this property is 2 out of 2 times with skipping housekeeping on both my stays. i can’t imagine I’m just that unlucky. ||2 questions then arise. |1. if the hotel management knows they will not offering housekeeping on Thursday, why would they stick to their policy of every other day for housekeeping? shouldn’t they make an exception to their own policy of cleaning rooms every day and make sure all guest rooms are cleaned on the Wednesday before thanksgiving knowing that all guests will not receive housekeeping? |2. if the front desk staff know there’s no housekeeping on Thursday why did they tell me to wait until Thursday when no one was staffed. and guests who had their rooms last cleaned on Tuesday don’t get their rooms cleaned until friday with this every other day policy. that’s a lot of days paying for housekeeping service without actually ever receiving it. ||This hotel in particular has a real issue with housekeeping. both times I have stayed here I have never had my room cleaned. not one time. until after I checked out. why is housekeeping such an overly complicated process at hotels these days especially with this one when in 2019 it was just a given you would have your room cleaned every day? Now it’s up for the guests to constantly stop by the desk, be told different things by the front desk, staff, and in the end, no service is even provided, when the industry just offerred it as a service. no hassles. so just be warned if you stay at this hotel you will need to do a lot of work ss a guest to get your room cleaned if you get it...
Read moreMy first couple of stays here were fine. I was saddened on this stay to see a property in decline, ravaged by the cheapness of its management.||Despite having costs similar or higher to other hotels with daily housekeeping, this hotel no longer offers it. We stayed three nights and a housekeeper entered our room zero times. Ridiculous.||Despite booking the same room type as other stays, we were put in an inferior room with a kitchen crammed into a corner, versus the roomy kitchens seen on the website. The room's heating and air conditioning seemed to have no association with the temperature set on the thermostat, and the bed was in bad shape, with a big bump in the middle and a slope towards the wall.||I have stayed in many Residence Inns, and the breakfast at this one is simply ambysmal. The eggs are pre-made little souffles that are wrapped in plastic and sit in the heating dish. The muffins are the same. Who wants to eat heated plastic for breakfast? There was a single slice of bacon left 20 minutes before breakfast ended, and the only milk available for cereal was oat milk. Similarly, the coffee creamer options were all sweetened fake creamer--no milk or half and half. It all screams of management buying the cheapest (and thus most processed) "food" they can get away with. I don't expect a gourmet breakfast at a Residence Inn, but this one is serving vending machine food on heaters.||The property also suffers from invisible staff. The person working breakfast wasn't visible...they were in the back as much as possible. Across three days of entering and exiting the hotel at various points, a staff member was visible at the front desk precisely once...at check-in. The rest of the time they hid in the office. Very odd.||It seemed a nice addition to Colorado Springs lodging when it opened, but between absent service, rooms that don't look like the pictures, the gas station breakfast, and the too-cheap-to-clean-the-rooms management, I would...
Read moreI’ve stayed here three times while visiting family in the area.||The location is great for southern Colorado Springs; it’s nice to see hotels being developed in this part of the city. The hotel is located in a nice shopping mall that contains several chain restaurants and name brand stores. Parking was easy, ample, and felt safe.||It’s a relatively new Residence Inn, and the property is in great shape. Rooms are what you’d expect, with a seating area, kitchen, and sleeping area. I think the rooms are thoughtfully designed—lots of storage, some smart nooks for placing keys/wallets/phones, lots of plugs, etc. I’ve appreciated the large desks and good lighting. My room has always been sparkling clean, and a plus is that the hotel has been offering housekeeping services (vs. pandemic excuses, as seems to so often be the case). Internet is free and fast.||Well-equipped fitness center for an extended stay hotel.||Lobby is nice; it’s a pleasant place to do some work, etc.||The one down side: breakfast. On each of my stays, it’s been atrocious, way worse than what I have encountered at other Residence Inn properties. On my most recent visit, I came during the last half hour of breakfast. They were out of most food and what was left was sugary cereal or a muffin a bag. For a hotel getting so much else right, the lousy breakfast is a let-down.||Service has been helpful at the front desk, but pretty non-existent at breakfast.||Overall, a very nice addition to the hotel options in Colorado Springs. A+ for accommodations; the only downside is...
