I can’t say enough good things about The Haunted Jail!!! This experience is definitely one of my highlights of the 2018 haunt season. I drove about 2 hours from my parents’ house in Indiana to attend The Haunted Jail on a Thursday night in September. It wasn’t a particularly busy evening and I was able to go through the attraction alone. I purchased the upgrade so that I could experience the VIP section on the third level of the haunt.

First I want to point out the venue…it’s an ACTUAL haunted jail. The jail was decommissioned several years ago and has become a permanent home to the haunted attraction, but contains cells from it’s time as a jail as well as possibly some of the souls that were kept here. It’s naturally creepy without the props and actors. However the props and actors add a level of scare factor that would be impressive in any venue. I was given special permission to film inside the haunt as I walked through (which I will post on my YouTube Channel) and normally when I am filming I’m pretty difficult to scare. I was shocked at how many times the hardworking actors ā€œgotā€ me. I screamed more walking through the Colombia City Haunted Jail than I did the entire night at Universal Studios HHN. Kudos to the incredible cast! I’m impressed. I love the dedication to their characters. You can tell they are well trained. The art throughout the attraction is beautifully done. The props are professionally made with a level of detail that I found impressive. I love the creativity throughout. The Haunted Jail is a wonderful stand alone haunted attraction and worth the trip even if you aren’t located in Colombia City.

I also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner and I love the way they support and work with the youth of the community. Not just what you see as the general public, like the Boy Scouts selling popcorn out front, but also from within the ranks of the cast. It’s not your standard haunt. It’s something special. I highly recommend The Haunted Jail. Be sure to buy the upgrade to VIP and do their coffin ride experience too.

*Note: There are a lot of stairs in...

Went Sunday night (10-25) and though we waited in line for about an hour, it was super worth it!

A few things to know is that: -it's cash only but they do have an atm. -I'd recommend you just bring cash with you so that you don't have to buy your own money from an atm. -the recommended age for kids is 12. -The VIP entry is $25 and it comes with a $3 concession stand ticket (Food/drinks!) -The platinum is $45 (I think) and you get to access some other areas of the house (and a few other things that I don't know the details of). A friend of mine said it was definitely worth the money. -Everyone gets a glow bracelet because there are parts of the jail that are pretty dark, particularly the basement. - You can't have your phone out while you're in there. I'd recommend you actually leave it in your car unless you've got cargo pants or a jacket with zipper pockets where it won't run the risk of falling out. -watch your step while you're in there! I know that in the middle of it it's easy to forget but seriously be aware of your surroundings. There where times where we turned a corner and all of a sudden there were stairs going up /down. Just be careful, especially if you've got kids with you.

This was the first time I went to a haunted house and I had a ton of fun with my family (we went as a group of 5). I can't wait to go back again next year! I hope to have money to get the Platinum access ($45, I think).

What made it creepy was the basement itself and the cells that we passed since they're part of the jail itself, not props. The basement does have some areas where there's dirt and it does smell humid so if you're sensitive to that, don't go or go through that area as quick as you can. It didn't bother me as much but my brother-in-law's wife was a bit more sensitive to the smell than the rest of us.

Other than that, it was great and although I wasn't really scared (was busy admiring some of the props, the costumes and makeup of the actors šŸ˜…) it made for a good adrenaline rush and exercise because there's a few sets of stairs (probably more...

Perfect place to to experience how money divides. Why a VIP. Should be a straight pay for everyone. My friend and I arrived at 7:15pm we bought the regular 15$ ticket. The line to get in was just starting to fill up we were about 4rows up time about 7:35. Place started to fill up. The line at first was moving smoothly, then right about in the middle of the 3 line came to a stand still. Could see people going in the jail but the line wasn't moving. Now its 8:15 still standing in same spot. Excitement started dwindling when we realized the the people going in were from the VIP line. See the VIP line was short when we arrived and filled up quickly in a half hour and stayed filled. So that line was a steady pace. The ones who couldn't afford the extra 10 had to wait humbly. Even though they were there almost at opening time. It is now 9:30 made to the beginning of the 2line. Timed the kids who were next to go in on the regular line. A half hour past before they were let in. In the meantime watching the VIP line zipping through. What a horrible slap in the face. And message. 10pm still waiting moved once. 1010 left and sold tickets to some in line to by them. The thrill turned to what the point. To bad 5th rated haunted house in nation bluntly shows division. It doesn't have to be that way. Also only thing we we're told was extra was a 3rd floor and a discount on concession. Not jumping ahead of the customers who couldn't afford the extra...

The visit started at night it was so cold and everyone was so excited before entering. I saw People of all ages waiting outside. None was caring about the waiting time because it was the first time for some of us. Inside the house you feel like you are caught between zombies yet those are the people acting so, it was so scary, too much noise when moving from one room to another. I am telling you, this is the scariest house I've ever seen before! I recommend you visit Haunted Jail if you don't know your level of fearing ghosts and other scaring scenes. By the way it was also time for having fun and doing some amusements. Don't go there to be scared out, Go just to have a good time with your family.

WOW!! Absolutely LOVE this haunt! In comparison from the one other time I was able to attend however, there was traffic inside the attraction. They were multiple times where my friend and I were able to walk alone (and in the complete darkness adds the perfect amount of nervousness) but on more occasions than not we ran into the people in front of us, or the people behind us we're right up on us. Made for a much less spooky experience... Stoked we got our 'free' Tshirt afterwards and the $2 concession ticket came in handy when we came out thirsty! Definitely will be returning next year!! Side note, wish you guys did mini events throughout the year.. would definitely attend!
