Dollar Tree — Local services in Columbia

The Dollar Tree in the Pinewoods Shopping Center in Columbia, KY is one of the worst run retail establishment I have ever visited! Today I was in the checkout and there were three people in front of me and five people behind me. One of the customers in the front had approximately fifty party items. However, they only kept one register open; all the while the store manager was walking around the front and could see that there was an issue with the number of customers at the checkout. There were two other workers in the store at this time, so it wasn't an issue of being shorthanded. When I got to the register, I wasn't greeted, or a thank you for your patience type of basic clerk to customer interaction. I ask the clerk "what does it take to open a second register?" She never said a word; just continued to scan my items. I asked her if the lady whom was up front was the manager (because the clerk called out her name earlier), and her response was a curt "I don't know." So, after I checked out, I went up to the manager to mention my concerns. Her excuse for not opening a 2nd register was that the girl at the register never called for her. I said that she, (the manager) had been up front multiple times and that she could see that there was a very long and busy line. The manager’s response to that was a condescending "well I'm sorry."
