Went there Tuesday night and got seated as soon as we walked in, but it took forever for a waitress to come to the table. We then we had to wait for rolls, then we had to wait for our drinks because they had no clean glasses. The waitress never did refill out drinks, or asked if we need more rolls. We asked the waitress how much longer it was going to be before getting our food and she said that they had a ton of tickets lined up in the back. So, after around an hour we finally just left. Manager never came by the table to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. The place was busy, but there was still open tables and no lines up front.
We went back on Thursday and waited in line for an hour. We got a table and we got a waitress pretty quick. We did not get our drinks promptly, but it was in an acceptable amount of time. We was told we would have out rolls in two minutes, but after around ten minutes I had to find another waitress to ask for a basket of rolls, and she came back and told me that it was going to be several minutes because they were going out as soon as they were coming out of the oven. It took forever for the food to come out. I ordered a medium well steak and it came out really well done, my wife got a salad with medium well steak tips and alot of them was medium rare. Son ordered medium well steak tips with mushrooms and stuff on the side, but it came out mingled together. So we sent it back and the manager brought us another dish with with the steak tips and separated from the rest of the stuff, then he left. The steak tips he brought out was medium rare instead of medium well. When we was about done eating we remembered that he did not receive his other side. My other son ordered pizza. We had to ask the waitress about the pizza and it came out five minutes after the rest of us had received our food. Our waitress knew that we had left a couple nights ago because of our bad experience she kept saying she was sorry for everything continuously. My youngest kid spilled his drink on the table and my wife asked one of the bus girls that was in the room moping under a table if she would come mop the mess up under our table, and she did not come clean it up because she did not want to be bothered, and she will do it after we left. We told the waitress that we were not happy with the service or the food, but the manager never did come to our table and we did not receive a discount of anything. We went up to check out and she task us how everything was. We told her and the two or three employees around her that we had numerous problems with our food and service and they did not get ahold of the manager, or offer us a discount, or that they was really sorry or anything. My wife said that she will never go back again and I am not planning on going back either. The two waitress that I have had there has been terrible. Management does not seem to care about customer satisfaction. It honestly felt life being on the show "Kitchen Nightmares" with Gordon Ramsey. The place was clean and I am sure the food was fresh, but management and the employees need to step their game up. I do have to say thank you to the slender brunette with long strait hair who wears the black slacks. I do not know if she is the head waitress or not, but she seems very focused on customers. Hopefully, she will make a great manager...
Read moreSo heard about this place on the big Dawg radio station and I said to my wife let's go try this place this Saturday for our anniversary. She agreed and so we went. Pulled up and the outside was nice and clean. We arrived at about 6 and the place was pretty busy but we got seated very quickly. Our server showed up in mins and took our drink orders we drove hear from campbellsville and have never been here so I asked for a min to look at the menu. The menu was extensive with alot to choose from so my wife and son and myself decided to try a appetizer each and share the variety. So we ordered tater skins, boneless wings and the onion rings. My wife and I ordered the 22 ounce porterhouse steak and my son ordered the 22 ounce cowboy Rib eye they got their 2 sides and I paid for the salad bar. Rolls were served which were very tasty and warm. Then it took about 6 mins and appetizers were at the table. They put them on the table and said enjoy. 1 minute later our food showed up at the table. I was like OK where would you like me to put this food? All I got in response was sorry. So I held my appetizer in my hand while she tried to fit the plates of food on the table. Once it was all on there I was able to take the potato skins off the plate and stack them on top of the onion rings and place the plate under the rings. So now we are eating our hot steak which was extremely fatty and tough and had the consistency of a pork chop and mine was cooked rare mind you. After my wife cut all the giant fat edges off and removed the bone she had about 8 ounces of meat to eat. I couldn't really eat the meat because I couldn't cut it with the butter knife they call a steak knife but after 4 mins I did get off a piece to try it. And it was tough.i really cant tell you how the appetizers are cus we didn't get to eat them but we did bring them home and we can try them microwaved tomorrow. Yum! Thing that makes the night so great is i paid for the salad bar that I didn't get to use cus there was no room on the table for me to add another plate. And I had to sit there and listen to my wife and son complain about the food the whole 20 mins we were there after our food was delivered. Majority of our experience was packing up the food in these 3 compartment boxes and paying the $160.00 bill. I will tell you i am not from kentucky and I have eaten at alot of really good steakhouse's and alot of bad ones but I have never experienced anything like that. It was just horrible. Will never go back there for steak again. But my wife and son said we should try lunch there and get a burger because alot of people there were ordering them. My wife said I couldn't believe how many people goto a steakhouse and...
Read moreFrom the very first moment I walked through the doors of Black Stallion, I felt as if I had stepped into a temple of culinary euphoria where the air was thick with the perfume of hickory smoke and sizzling perfection. The atmosphere? Immaculate. The staff? Celestial beings disguised in aprons. But let’s talk about the food — because sweet heavens above, I was transformed.
We began with the half rack of ribs, and let me tell you: each rib was a sacred relic, basted in a glaze that could bring a tear to Zeus himself. The meat surrendered to the fork like it had been waiting its whole life for this moment — tender, smoky, and dripping with a sticky, sweet, perfectly peppered sauce that danced across my tongue like a waltz choreographed by angels.
Then came the 8oz sirloin, seared to a majestic medium-rare. The outer crust was a triumph of Maillard reaction mastery, and the inside? A rich, buttery pink so tender it practically melted into my soul. Each bite whispered stories of open flames, deep pastures, and the skilled hands of a grill artist who clearly communes with the gods.
Oh, but the loaded mashed potatoes — dear reader, these weren’t just mashed potatoes. These were a creamy avalanche of buttery gold, infused with cheddar, crowned with bacon, and kissed by green onions. Each spoonful was a warm, fluffy hug from your grandmother and Gordon Ramsay at the same time.
And then… the mac and cheese. This was not merely a side dish. This was the main character. The cheese was a molten river of sharp, tangy bliss, blanketing perfectly al dente noodles in a sauce so rich it should be taxed. It was silky, sultry, and I’m 87% sure I blacked out in ecstasy after the third bite.
In conclusion: if you haven’t eaten at Black Stallion, cancel your plans, fake an illness, and RUN. This isn’t just food. This is a spiritual awakening served on a plate. Bravo, Black...
