They have a store and a restaurant in the back of the store. I went to the restaurant. This review is solely for the restaurant.
To me, the food had no flavor. I wouldn’t go back, not because of that but because of the ordeal after.
But also, maybe I just picked a bad dish especially once I modified it. I ordered tacos which were $3 each and only had beef on them because i don’t like chives onions. And I ordered some queso to go on my tacos. Total came to $16.37 and I was still very hungry afterwards. I also ate my friend’s 3 tacos wrapped around mine to make it more satiating. Didn’t work though.
Ok next…
For each customer, they show you the receipt and then ask for your card. They then type in the amount they want to charge you.
Here’s how it quickly went downhill for me: She shows me $16.37 I get a text saying I was charged for $18.07. She keeps pushing buttons and then calls her coworker who shows me a receipt saying that my card is declined for $16.37. Now what I had done and always do, I had only added 20 dollars to that card for this purchase. They type some more and show me that my card is declined again. At which point I’ve now received 3 texts saying my card was trying to be charged. But only the first one went through. They’re mumbling stuff in Spanish to each other, which I understood. Yes I do have the money, but not for you to charge me twice. I tell them and show them the texts that she’s trying to keep charging me. They ask me to come talk to the manager…. He tells me to come back the next day with the receipts and my bank account with the purchase marked as posted to prove I paid. Now mind you, I live on the opposite side of town, about 20 minutes away. And they’re making it seem like my fault while I’m looking at the charge and the missing money from my account. Had me there for 15 minutes because, she never confessed and just said, “Hey...
Read moreOrdered the enchiladas verdes. Beautifully presented food; however, not at all what I wanted and expected having ordered that dish before from a litany of other restaurants. The reason for the low rating is because after I ordered and they took my money and I explained what I wanted, even going as far as pulling up a photo from the internet of what traditionally, enchiladas have looked like for me, suddenly, no one in the restaurant spoke English. I could tell they weren't going to fix the problem as the waitress who took my money and order kept eschewing me aside to take other orders. Went ahead and took the "L" for that, and as I was leaving, you could tell they were making fun of me. Went up the street and got exactly what I expected and wanted. Sorely disappointed as I never ran into that issue before. I work in Restaurant/Hospitality and this was...
Read moreMy family and I enjoy going here about 2-3 times a month. Not far from the house and it's such an easy going establishment. Their food here is absolutely the best Mexican we have found for the area. We make it a point to go to the smaller family owned locations for reasons such as these. All of the employees are very friendly and we have even gotten to know each other a little. Sure, it can be a little misleading from the outside appearance. Maybe even a little on the inside as well. Yet we highly recommend giving this place a try if you are looking for a delicious, near perfect and authentic Mexican meal and atmosphere! The mild language barriers are easy to overcome as...
