The salon's a lovely environment with warm energy and friendly stylists. And I left with the best updo possible, truly definitely set a record of compliments I've gotten on a hairstyle!

the saga version: I was coming into Columbus from out of town for a family member's black tie wedding, so I'd booked an updo weeks back at a salon close to my hotel... only, with hours to spare, to get a cancellation text. I started making longshot phone calls and reached Elle, Platinum on Fifth's owner. Elle was so kind, empathetic, and is clearly passionate about her work: not only did she manage to fit me in immediately, she did so by coming in on her day off.

It turns out I was so lucky to get cancelled on and get in here. I had a vision in mind (leaning Breakfast at Tiffany's), which Elle listened to, made sure was going how I wanted throughout, and then proceeded to nail beyond my expectations. Time well spent! I went into the salon with a botched hair color job from a different salon, and walked out of Platinum on 5th not only relieved—but ecstatic about how my hair turned out. What I thought was cool, was how my stylist collabed with Elle and others on how best to fix my overly-bleached hair… and they nailed it! Mik was my stylist and she couldn’t have been more welcoming and pleasant to talk with while getting my hair done. Mik exceeded any expectations I may have had with the end result.

I instantly fell in love with their rinse out chairs 🫶 They are soo comfy and I felt like I was laying down in a bed—I could’ve easily fallen asleep! Another thing to note is the shampoo and conditioner they use smells heavenly. If you’re looking for products to purchase, the salon carries lines of SEVEN hair care products in their retail area. All-in-all, Platinum on 5th offers expertise and professionalism mixed with personality. Doubt you’d be disappointed...

Elle is an absolute wizard. After a disaster at a previous salon, I went to her about two and a half years ago for a color correction. Not only did she nail it, but when I went back about 9 months later to match the blonde to my natural hair, she matched it so perfectly that I couldn’t tell where my roots ended. I tend to go at minimum 6 months between haircuts and every single cut I get from her is amazing and grows out perfectly. I will never go anywhere else.
