Michael’s Goody Boy — Restaurant in Columbus

I came with a group of 4 for a LIVE hip hop and r&b event. This was our first time at this diner. We paid 125 for a reserved vip table/couch. The service was TERRIBLE. They were out of many drink options that they were advertising.. That was a first for me! There were many others getting better service than us.. Very noticeable. The event performers were giving attention to everyone but us it felt like most of the time.. but the thing i disliked the most.. One of the "bartenders" gave me SO much attitude because HE made my drink wrong. I just wanted it made correctly.. In the correct glass. I was very respectful, and he was so mean! He didn't even come check on us the rest of the time we were there after that happened.. So unprofessional and unwelcoming..The food was okay, but the service was just horrible.. I have never experienced anything like it. Sadly, I wasted over 200 dollars coming here. There was another server who was "our assigned server" and "bartender". He was the only good experience. He was trying his best, while bartending the back as well. He smiled and made me feel more welcomed. I will say THE SINGER AND VIOLIN PLAYER WERE AMAZING. I would love to hear more of them again. My daughter had always wanted to try this place when she was young. I believe it was shut down for a bit. Recently brought back to our radar. Stopped in to order takeout. Service was friendly and fast. Ordered two burgers with special requests...main one being no pickles. Everything tasted of pickles because several pickles were placed in the take out containers. The burger flavor itself reminded me of Burger King. Not bad but not worth the cost. The burgers were also very dry and overcooked to the point only the center was edible. My daughter didn't even eat her burger. We were given one container of ketchup for both orders with no other sauce. Luckily, I had some condiments at our destination. I hope this helps others. We are particular and and this review is to reveal. I hope this business thrives. Please pay attention to your customers. My main thing is that if I am paying this price for a burger and request to not have a specific item, please please please just don't put that item. I did notice some patrons drinking. Def seems like a cool vibe environment if you are stopping in for a drink and some apps. Staff was definitely welcoming...

I first came to enjoy Goody Boys back in 2000 long before the update. Back then you could call in your lunch order and they would have it ready and waiting in a white box.

I was recently in town on business and thought I would give the ole haunt another visit. I was pleasantly surprised that they had completely remodeled and that the only thing original to the location was the sign out front. What hadn't changed though was the divey quality of the food. The quality of the ingredients has improved as well as the presentation, but it also isn't a $20 burger or a $1 piece of cardboard. The food is still great.

The atmosphere is open with several areas including outside for diners to have a bit of privacy or room for a larger crowd. The staff is prompt and friendly, and the food is served quickly. The restaurant, including the bathrooms, is clean and well maintained. The only grievance that I would have is that the music is a bit loud and there is limited parking, however that varies certainly from day to day.
