Saraga International Grocery — Local services in Columbus

Newer store location. Looks like it took over an old département store in a strip mall. Plenty of parking! Handicap accessible parking and entrance. Restrooms located very back left of store from entrance/exit doors. I've forgotten to take pics inside store, so took pics of a few of many items, when i got home. Prepared fish head soup (salmon) with a large variety of fresh veggies and herbs (all from Saraga's). The soup was exquisite! Unfortunately, the female blue crabs, that were already uncovered when purchased at the counter over ice, were not good to eat and threw them ALL out. Had a small taste sampling of 3 different ones, after the first was bad, its like they were old or expired. If it tastes off putting, throw them out. You could get food poisoning if consuming expired seafood! Huge establishment, clean for the most part. Lots of produce to choose from. Isles are marked by country, which makes it nice and convenient. Live fish offered. Good variety of fresh fish at this location. Meat counter looks delicious as well. Meat & Seafood depts will cut to order. There are a few different ethnic restaurants along the left wall and back wall of building. There are other vendors on premises as well, selling cell phones, clothing, etc. If you are looking for pots and pans, they have them too, and of all sizes! Lots of non-perishable items! Some of the staff could use some friendliness training 🙄, but overall, we really enjoyed grocery shopping here 😁. I recommend this Saraga location to everyone. Enjoy & Bon appetite!...

Customer Service is MIA when you're searching for something in the store. I get a little frustrated when I cannot find what I'm looking for and there's no one to turn to. I walk in and there's always someone in the fruit section that seems to disappear within minutes of my arrival. I once came into the store to buy pistachios and a few other things. Well I finally found them in what I thought was the all nuts section. They were rolled pretty tight in small wrappers in a package. I was pleased to have finally conquered that store without the disappearing-act customer service person. I came to check out with a smile on my face. However, the cashier didn't even look up at me. I thought to myself maybe she's a little upset that I found something in this store without anyone's help. I was excited nevertheless, no one was gonna spoil my moment. I hurried to the car after checking out to have some of those delicious pistachios. I tried tearing open the package, it didn't work. So I bit the wrapper with my teeth. Almost lost a tooth bad idea. So I looked around my car for a tool. Aha!! got it with a fingernail file. I stabbed the package angrily and opened it up quickly. The pistachios were in weird rolls. I bit into it nevertheless and to my surprise it was not just pistachios. There was some gooey awful center underneath the...

They gave my family noodles with this bad black thing inside. My mom threw away the receipt because she does not normally return food. So when she went to return it they looked at the noodles that had the black thing inside and said they can’t give my mom her money back. So my dad was mad and asked if we can scan it and will it show up. They said no. Then my dad told everyone not to trust them. Then my dad told them not to sell it anymore and the woman said they will continue to sell it even though some people are complaining about it as well. So they just gave my mom her money back even though she said she does not care about the money she cares about them not selling it anymore. So she said we were being aggressive and shouting at her even though she was shouting at us. So more employees came and one of them were on our side. So we my dad told them he worked for the government and will report this to them. So she said I don’t care or something I forgot. Then she went to an empty cash register check of my mom bought it and surprisingly she did by is a long time ago. So yeah and there was more arguing but then we just left. So yeah. Don’t buy there noodles because it’s not good and maybe their other food....
