Went to the service desk just to cash in a winning lottery ticket. I was 4th in line and there were five people behind me. One of the registers was down, okay I understand technical difficulties. As we were all standing there another customer went straight up to the counter in front of everybody in line. I am the only one that spoke up in line saying hey you know there's a lot of people waiting in line here, the woman said well I was already in line and I said well yeah so what I was already in line here before also that does not allow you to just walk to the front of the line and how do I know that you aren't just lying about whether you were in line or not. So I flag down Kelly Albert line manager, Kelly says I'm rude, I'm being rude for defending myself standing up for myself when a bully can just walk to the front of the line in front of all the customers as we've been waiting there for 20 minutes. I said Kelly if you don't believe me then pull the camera footage, she scoffed at me and walked around the corner going back to stocking shelves over by the medicine, I said okay go and run Kelly run from the hide from the situation. Absolutely ridiculous I can't believe this woman is a manager of any sort if you cannot handle and you allow customers to bully and abuse other customers in your store and you're not willing to do anything about it and you question whether I'm being honest about the situation when I tell you you can pull the camera footage literally pointed to it above my head. Listen Kelly I understand that all you want to do is collect a paycheck a lot of America shows up at work to collect a paycheck but a lot of America goes to work to get a job done clearly this is not the case when it comes to your management You're simply there to collect a paycheck and to hide from your customer service responsibilities. You're rude you're rude for ignoring the situation and running and hiding from it instead of remedying it and taking care of it furthermore why aren't you trying to remedy the situation of one of the cash registers being down unbelievable like I literally couldn't believe I was talking to a quote on...
Read moreThis store has really gone downhill in the last decade. They spend money on fancy trim, but they hire people that can't work the registers or think for themselves. My wife and I have been stuck several times with cashiers that have a tenuous grasp of the English language at best, and that if something doesn't exactly scan the way they expect they can't figure out how to fix the problem. Zero trouble shooting skills. I'll even tell them how to fix it, and they wait for a supervisor to come over to tell them the exact same thing I just told them. Then after all that they still ring me up incorrectly, and I have to spend time in Customer Service fixing it. They also forget to give you all your bags all the time so you have to go back to the store once you get home. It's so bad that it's almost every other time we use a human cashier something goes wrong, and we end up wasting a half to whole hour dealing with it. The labor is so unskilled that I ask why even have them at all. It would be better if it were only U-scans. The cashiers that monitor the U-scans are 10X better than the lane cashiers. When you talk to management they seem to understand, give us a store credit, and let us know that "this is all that corporate will send us". We used to come here even though Walmart was less expensive because it was nice. We're going to take our business elsewhere even if it cost more money. Meijer trying to compete with Walmart has become almost as bad. Bad enough for us to...
Read moreI watched a woman take her dog out of her car and walk it on a leash into the FOOD entrance of Meijer. She got a cart, but continued to let the dog wander on its leash. It was a smaller dog, like a Terrier. They are not trained as actual ADA protected service dogs and its erratic behavior on the leash clearly displayed the lack of proper training and it wasn't even a proper vest to indicate a working dog. I inquired to the employee, that just sits at the door, asking her to notify someone that could approach her. It's disgusting that ANYONE will bring an animal on a leash into a busy FOOD store, (especially a section with open food not sealed) that isn't an official trained and established service dog. I watched the woman wander thru the produce section with her distracted dog still loose, not even in a carrier or the cart. I didnt bother doing any shopping and left bc no one from Meijer spoke to her and customers were noticing the random dog in the produce section. Upon leaving, the employee sitting at the door allegedly said she told a manager, but the woman told this employee it's a service dog. Strange, bc I never saw an employee actually speak with the dog owner. NO it is not a service dog. It's just your accessory for attention and entitlement. It's disrespectful and an insult to the ADA community when ppl of this kind of trash mentality lie and pretend with their obviously untrained dogs. Shame on Meijer for enabling...
