I don’t usually take the time to write long reviews, but after the experience I had with Jake at the Verizon store in Commerce, I feel like it’s the least I can do. He is hands down the best customer service representative I have ever dealt with—at Verizon or anywhere else.
From the moment I walked in, Jake greeted me with a level of professionalism and genuine friendliness that you don’t see often. He didn’t rush me, didn’t talk over me, and never made me feel like I was “just another customer.” Instead, he treated me like my time, questions, and concerns actually mattered. That kind of patience is rare.
Jake didn’t just sell me something—he educated me. He explained my options in detail, broke down pricing in a way that was easy to understand, and even went the extra mile to compare my current plan against promotions to save me money. Most agents give you the bare minimum, but Jake walked me through everything until I felt completely confident about my choice. He’s got that perfect mix of knowledge and communication skills—he knows the product inside and out, but he can also explain it in plain English.
What really impressed me was how he handled the small details that most people overlook. He set up my device from start to finish, transferred all my data without a single hiccup, and double-checked everything before I left. He even gave me tips on maximizing battery life, adjusting privacy settings, and making the most of Verizon perks I didn’t even know I had.
But beyond the technical side, Jake’s customer service is next-level. He’s attentive without being pushy, professional but still personable, and you can tell he cares about his customers. That’s the kind of person who makes people want to stay with Verizon, because you know if something goes wrong, someone like Jake will actually take care of it.
I’ve been to multiple Verizon stores in the past, and let me tell you—there’s Jake, and then there’s everyone else. The difference is night and day. If every company had employees like him, customer service complaints wouldn’t even exist.
Long story short: If you go to Verizon in Commerce, ask for Jake. You will not regret it. He deserves all the recognition, all the praise, and honestly a promotion. Verizon is lucky to have him, and I know I’ll never go to another store again as long as I can...
Read moreIf you're just buying a phone, this store is fine. God forbid you run into a problem though. Manager Mario is completely useless; can't remember anything past 5 minutes. Went in to reduce phone bill as I'm a single mom who just lost my child support. Funny how their unlimited, reduced rate plans somehow don't apply to you once you ask for it. In course of conversation, Mario talked me into going with DISH network through Verizon at an advertised rate of $40 (pamlet in plain view on counter). Something got screwed up on his end. I noticed day before install that order printout said "no DVR". Called Mario, said it was fine, his end was correct. DISH showed up April 4 with no DVR. Called Mario, said he'd fix. David at store immediately resolved DVR switch. I also had no channels except local and shopping channels, NOT FLEX PACK ordered for $40, David said Mario needed to deal with that. Waited a week for Mario to fix but no return call. Finally called DISH myself and explained situation. Stations ordered in original order appeared within 15 minutes. Assumed end of story. Unfortunately, my $40 a month bill went up to $70 without explanation and was automatically withdrawn from my account. Called Mario who promised he would deal with. Week week went by, no call from him so had to drive up to store, 20 minutes away. Mario did call DISH in front of me, getting useless foreign people who lied about me agreeing to things I'd never even been informed of. Again Mario said he'd continue working on but a week later, nothing. Oh, on top of that, my Verizon tablet died for no apparent reason, had to replace. Not only am I stuck with paying $10 line charge on a defective tablet, they stuck me with a $40 access fee I...
Read moreBeen a customer for 20 years. They sent me a bad phone. When I got a new phone. I contacted them and told him about the problem and they sent out a new phone but they sent me the wrong phone. I called them again and sent back the phone again And they sent me the wrong phone again. I called again and told them about the problem. They told me that they were only allowed to send out two new phones as replacements and there was nothing they could do.they would not let me out of my contract And they would not solve the problem that they caused. They suggested I make an insurance claim. They asked me to commit fraud. I spoke to more than a dozen people over a 3-month period of time in which I had a broken phone that would not hold a charge. I'm disgusted with this place. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years with my seven phones on their account. We all used to think that they had the best coverage, but they don't have the best coverage anymore around the Metro Detroit area. T-Mobile has been just as good or better. I get a lot less spam calls with the same phone number. I will never ever go back to Verizon again. I highly recommend having you run away from them. They don't care about their customers. Multiple calls to multiple level people and no one wanted to help or cared. They lied to me over and over and over again. Promised phone calls back which never ever happened. Run away....
