Either a bad night or something has changed- We used to visit here quite frequently until a couple taco trucks/ restaurants opened near us and we’ve been getting our taco/ tostada fix there- But decide to visit Alchile as we recall it always being great and the reviews still looked decent- Quite a drive there but…
Only ones there- Walk in and the guy running the orders doesn't say hi, hello…flat through whole order- I’m smiling, saying hi…ok, we all are going through things maybe in a mood- Takes order- 10 minutes later go to get food and he’s still flat-
At first glance everything looks so fresh and delicious- Looks are deceiving- I immediately noticed how small my tacos looked compared to what they used to be- I order the same three types- There’s half the amount of meat than usual- Barbocoa was ok flavor - at least it wasn’t dry and crunchy- Chorizo tasted like cat chow mix - ( childhood dare, can’t forget that taste) Dry, crunchy and odd flavor almost a burnt taste- The pastor was the same - dry and salt- I used to get so messy from these tacos because they were moist and filled-
The red salsa that came with the meal was gross- tasted like tomato sauce- No heat- no cilantro…
I ordered a side of refied beans and got a plate of rice and beans
No thank you! At $4 a taco…No way- The overall experience makes it easy to never return- I learned, when working in the food industry, the food can be off, but if the customer has a good interaction with the server, they are more willing to...
Read moreA great Chef once said "Anyone can cook" (I hope you got the reference lol) but, I couldn't disagree more and Alchile is a great example of this harsh reality that, not everyone can cook. I had high hopes for this place. Let me start by talking about the service. The lady at the register was a bit rude, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. However, I did like the self serve service system they have (but don't expect a tip). Now let's talk about the food. Anyone who says that their food is good, has either never tried real, good Mexican food or they don't know anything about food. I got the barbacoa, asada, and al pastor tacos. the Al pastor tacos tasted nothing like Al pastor should taste. They were salty, and where is the pineapple? In a good Al pastor taco there needs to be the sweet taste of the pine apple mixed with the spicy of the adobo sauce. The asada tacos were horrible, they had a gummy like texture to them and were drenched in oil. I understand that to add flavor to your tacos a little grease on the tortilla helps. But I’m talking about swimming, my tacos were swimming in oil. It made my stomach upset (not exaggerating). The Barbaquoa was disappointing, I had high hopes. No flavor, no tenderness. My only good thing to say about this place was that they have a good green sauce for the tacos. Would...
Read moreMy experience with the W. Bloomfield location was HORRIBLE. I ordered the chicken chimichanga through DoorDash. It arrived quick thanks to DoorDash (no problem with them) so there was no reason for the food to be cold upon delivery.
In addition to my food being COLD, it was unseasoned and chicken tasted and smelled like it came out of a can that was not prepared to serve. It didn’t taste like it was boiled or pan fried. There was absolutely NO season on the chicken (no salt, no pepper, no garlic powder, no onion powder, no cumin, no paprika, no chili seasoning, no lime juice, no cilantro, and for sure no taco seasoning) no cheese, and most of all NO FLAVOR. 😳
I called the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction and to request that they prepare my dish again after paying $23 dollars total including my delivery. I asked them to give make it with the ground beef instead of that awful shredded dry chicken.
They still didn’t get the replacement meal correct. There was NO CHEESE on the inside as advertised and if it was I didn’t see it or taste it. Needless to say I had to doctor the meal up. Now the AlChile Novi location is MUCH BETTER , the food at that location tastes great and is seasoned well. Needless to say I am done with the AlChille W....
