Clayton Valley Bowl — Local services in Concord

My boyfriend and I love bowling and thanks to Clayton Valley Bowl he now has his own shoes and ball, as I do also! We have so much fun when we're here; I love the lanes! They have great deals all week long, but especially on Sunday! The lounge is nice and has friendly bartenders. Every time we come we have a blast and there's usually no wait for lanes!

There are two bowling alleys in Concord, and the other one is really close to our home so my husband and I usually go there, but we spent this New Year's Eve at Clayton Valley Bowl and had a really great time. We've gone bowling on NYE the last 2 years, but Diablo Lanes was charging twice what Clayton Valley was this year, which was motivation to play somewhere new.

We had terrific drink service at our lane all night even though the place was packed for the holiday. I bought 2 beef tacos at the snack bar for $4 and they were awesome! Also, they had really good hot sauce - and a pretty big menu. There's also a large bar with pool tables and darts. They did a free champagne toast at midnight.

Music videos played on large screens above the lanes. Our only complaint was that our lane wasn't greased - at all. So you could put spin on the ball, but it would catch really fast instead of gliding down the lane. (I can't do that anyhow, but my husband complained about the lane all night).

They do specials throughout the week and on Sunday night there's a $5 cover to get you into $1 games and beers!...

Nice bowling joint with plenty of parking and in a nice area. They have a Pro Shop here along with an over 21 area. They do have a glass area smoke room (which I prefer instead of people standing by the entrance and you smelling the smoke on your way in). The snack shop is nice with reasonable prices and restrooms are clean with plenty of soap and paper towels.

But the staff here could be more friendly especially when it comes to kids and getting the right shoes. Their arcade room has some nice games, but most four quarters and some 4 out of the 10 games were out of order. Lot of their $0.25 vendor machines were either empty or broken. For the snack shop, there was only one person working there on a late Friday afternoon, and this one person was taking the order and...

This place is absolutely DISGUSTING. i will never come back here. The entire place has a stale smell to it. The bathrooms are disgusting and i almost got stuck in a stall because the doors are si screwed up. THERE IS NO CHANGING TABLE IN THE WOMANS BATHROOM. like seriously? I had to change my daughter on a bench. My BRAND NEW BALL that i was using for the FIRST TIME here today came back out of the ball return with a huge chip in it. brand spanking new ball already has a chip in it in less than 2 games? Yeah you wont ever be seeing me and my family again unless its to go into that ball shop. The man in there was so helpful with picking out my ball...
