Pavilion Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Clayton

We're visiting from Fresno California so it was our first time here. Upon arrival there was no one to greet you at the front desk. But the bar tender noticed us and got us seated quickly in the dining area. As you walk in you walk past the bar area which was full of energetic people yelling at the TV screen for their team to win. The TV had its volume up so it seemed like the party goers were trying to talk over the sound. Anyway in the dining area the TV was on, but without the volume on (Which I was okay with that). We sat down and were asked what we would like to drink. The service was polite. They served warm bread with your choice to add butter or dip the bread in marinara sauce that was hot temp wise. We ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly even with all those bar people there. The plate I ordered was the fettuccini marsala. My brothers only compliant was his fish and fries. He said the oil needs to be changed out. It made his food taste weird. They we kind enough to let him order from the lunch menu. He was hungry so he ate the fried fish just not many fries. My first time coming here, I came from nail salon nearby and I’m kind of hungry and wanted to drink, so I went inside there’s a nice receptionist lady helped me out to sit, in short everything is perfect service from the lady assisting me to the food but the white bartender. I’m the only Asian customer Everyone are white customers, so what I noticed this white bartender comes out from the bar walked around and say hi and chat and asked how are they doing and if customers needed help but he just walked to everyone and say hi but me, this white bartender is racism. I’m not sure if I’m still gonna come back to this bar but the steamed clams I ordered are excellent. My lady server is so nice, she always comes every now and then to my table and asks if everything is okay, very nice server and I forgot her name. I hate...

Extremely trashy experience. I went here early evening with my son for what we knew going in was going to be a "B minus experience" quick dinner. I've lived in Clayton/Concord since 1989 and always heard bad things about this place and figured to give it a chance. All that I was told for over 30 years was correct. We sat down and even helped clean our table and had our order ready just to speed the process up. The waitress/server went back to the table filled with regulars to ensure their next drink order was taken care of and we actually stupidly sat their for over 20 minutes with no interaction and then she delivered them all new drinks.. We took our business down the street to the Clayton Bar and Grille and gave us 5+ service. This place is "great" if you are a local drinker.... not recommended for...
