Food Lion — Local services in Concord

The store does not enforce the mask policy. I know it might be more difficult to enforce amongst the customers as there will probably be a confrontational karen or two but the employees dont even follow it. The cashiers do but the stocking employees dont, and neither do the employees handling the deli and bakery. The store does not answer its direct phone line ever. I appreciate the fact they have people cleaning the carts but if I ask a question and the employee pulls down their mask and leans in to answer me then it kinda cancels out in my head. I dont want to be rude or confrontational in person because I've worked retail and know how that can ruin your whole day, especially when you're underpaid but I cant even talk to a manager...

This store is just down the street and ALWAYS is neat and clean. Their Staff is helpful and courteous wish more stores had employees like them. Recently their Produce has been some of the finest locally. Christmas 2023 UPDATE! We decided to try one of their Standing Rib Roasts instead of Costco. BIG MISTAKE! I physically watched them cut a 8 pound (3 Rib) piece from a fresh-packed stack and at $6.49/lb boy it looked like a pretty tasty deal! What a total disappointment! Not only was it very tough but is has almost NO taste. A hard lesson learned that was shared with our visiting family. And believe me, I know how to cook one to perfection! I usually love FL's product however I have had bad experience with their meat lately. Beef and chicken both have had already trimmed off and loose fat underneath the pieces so you can not see it. Also, leaves double the amount of fat on the thighs to the point you can wrap all the way around and then some.

I weighed the chicken fat on my scale and in just one family pack it was 12 ounces. The beef was not as drastic of weight but it also cost a lot more per pound. In a month, if each package was like that it would be $20-$25 for my family at least.

Hiding fat to get weight up so you can charge more for package is just not acceptable. ...
