I will not be returning to this establishment. There is an admin fee for using your card to pay for your meal. The register area is so busy with candy, cookies, Etc that you don't even notice the sign that is supposedly there for patrons regarding the fee. The merchant told me that the credit card company charges this fee which is BS. Credit card companies charge the vendor not the customer directly. I don't appreciate being lied to and considered uneducated. The waiter I had last week seem to be a stoner and forgot several of the items including but not limited to bringing my salad before the meal and a couple of things that I requested in addition. I overheard the ladies in the booth behind me stating that he had forgotten something for them as well. I don't want to spend my hard-earned money paying any admin fees or having forgetful Stoners waiting on me. It would seem that these admin fees assisted in paying for the renovations that they made over the pandemic. Years ago when this location was in Pineville they didn't charge an admin fee. Buyer beware, Enjoy!

Super clean. Great staff. Reasonable amount of food for the money, but we definitely didn't have the "huge portions" or "ate it for three meals" experience others seem to have had here. I ate all of mine with ease and some of my guests' too. Fresh seafood seems to be an anomoly here in the inland south. Even the Harris Teeters smell like the ocean at low tide...no thanks. You'd never know this was a seafood place when you walk in, which is a good thing. There are quite a few choices, but you won't find something like tuna on there. And, most of the guests seem to order fried fish, and fried anything else they could get. I got something baked and while good, it was overcooked quite a bit (dry not juicy), so I drank a lot of water! Flavor is very light on everything we ate. A few pics attached. It is worth noting that the menu on their site is wrong, so I included pics of the current one. There's one pricing error, but I don't recall which one it is. (Initially posted this for the wrong restaurant nearby. Sorry for that! It is Pier 51.)

We've been loyal customers of Pier 51 for nearly nine years and have always appreciated many of the changes and improvements over time. However, we've recently noticed a decline in the quality of the food—particularly with items like the onion rings, which have unfortunately changed for the worse. What’s most disappointing is the new charge for condiments like ketchup, especially when dining in. While we understand the need for adjustments in operations, this feels like a step too far and has impacted our overall dining experience. We’re sharing this feedback because we’ve truly enjoyed coming here over the years, but sadly, these recent changes are causing us—and others we know—to reconsider returning. We hope this helps in some way and that you’ll take it into consideration.

Carry out review: I ordered dinner for me and my boyfriend over the phone based on the online menu. This was our first time trying this place so had a few questions about the portion sizes since it only indicated small/large. I ordered the lrg founder platter for him, which indicated a salad and one side. I ordered myself the deviled crab which came with one side. When I asked what was the difference between the sizes, I was told one you get more (ummm I kinda figured), so I asked so are we talking 2,3? The gentleman said no you get more than 2. Ok NVM, that's fine. When I got that I was immediately and cheerfully greeted by a nice young lady. She took my name and went right to the back to check on my order. My boyfriends salad slipped out the bag on the floor and they quickly remade another one. The food was decent, the deviled crab wasn't my favorite but edible. I feel like it was more stuffing than anything and that's all I could taste. The hush puppies are really good and was cooked perfectly. I tasted my boyfriends flounder was it was really good, fried a little harder and it would have been perfect. But that is my preference. He enjoyed it and the fries. I can't speak to the Cole slaw because I don't eat it. But he said it was just ok. Overall, the service we did get was great, the food is decent. I will say, I paid with the card and no where or anyone mentions the surcharge. I knew because of a previous reviewer, so that definitely needs to be posted. And after I walked out I realized I was never given a receipt to sign so I will be on the lookout for the final posted charge. That really bothered me, the young guy that rang me out was super friendly and he and I was joking about the salad so it totally slipped my mind. Overall, we would try again maybe for a dine...

I ordered the Thursday special which was flounder and calabash shrimp for $6.69?? I think. It was an order that I picked up. When I got to my office I discovered that not even a whole piece of fish was on my plate I immediately called the restaurant to let them know. I asked to speak with a manager and explained to him that I did not recieve what was advertised an actually have what looks like scraps of what was left of the fish on my plate. I would like to point out that he never said what his name was, he answered how may I help you? Instead of Hello, this is _...After I explained to him how my plate looked he went on to tell me that unfortunately that is baby flounder and they sell it in little "pieces". I explained again that this wasn't little pieces of fish it looked like leftovers. He then said to that this is what the distributors give them and that is what they serve and all fish aren't the same size. As I explained that my coworker ordered the same thing and she has two pieces of fish on her plate. Needless to say, I will never patronize them again. I may not have been inclined to write this review had he offered any type of customer service to me. Not even an apology. I wasn't asking for anything free, only what I paid for. I will not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. I am also going on facebook and twitter to let people know exactly what kind of food and service this restaurant has. I am also a blogger and I will be adding this restaurant to the list " Don't Waste Your Time or Money." You are in a customer service field and if that is not what you wish to do, then perhaps you should not have opened your doors. NEVER, EVER AGAIN!! You lost what could have been a...

Went for my 20 year anniversary. As most places are right now, they are short staffed and we expected to wait. They did really well keeping us informed on when we would be seated then the server we had was stretched very thin. We completely understand this and were very patient. We got the food and it was really good. The scallops were a bit over cooked, but I'll take that over undercooked any day. The reason for this rating only being a 3 is because as I was at the check out, a man's voice from the kitchen was heard plainly saying that someone specific should be answering the phone. While standing in line, I watched and listened to the girl answer the phone three times while she was trying to assist the customers in front of me to check out. There was a problem with trying to find the right things in the computer to ring out. As someone in customer service for my whole life, I got disgruntled because you could hear him plainly and the staff is running around doing the best they can and still having the best dispositions, the last thing they needed was to be talked about or to like this man was doing. I went to the door of the kitchen and let him know that the girl had answered the phone three times. He said that I didn't hear the entire conversation. Nope, maybe I didn't hear the whole conversation, but what I did hear was not appropriate and I told him that he shouldn't be talking to where the customers could hear him. I give props to the staff for showing up to work and working hard with a smile on their face regardless of what it seems they have to...
