La Michoacana Paleteria y Neveria — Restaurant in Concord

I arrived at 8:30 pm on a Sat. , just to get a simple 2 scoop icecream .

It took nearly 15 minutes of waiting until I finally had to knock on the counter to get somebody's attention from the back. Whatever that person was doing clearly was much more important than to tend to a customer. Especially when the customer just wanted a very simple item not a massive dinner order.

5 minutes later two girls came in. they could have been customers themselves, but it turns out they were employees ( or just friends hanging out in the back of the house). I asked if they have toppings in addition to the ice cream. She seemed rather lost. It's either a yes or no question.

I was rather stunned at how poor the delivery was in her attempt to sell me that they did have toppings. I finally got my requested ice cream and then sat down.

It was about 9:05pm + When suddenly the lights began to turn off. Then someone yells in the back, 'turn them back on, there's still a customer inside here!' Unreal. That was my cue to finally get the hell out of there.

A complete unprofessional establishment.

How such a place is still active is quite the miracle. I won't be returning...

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! The concord/Kannapolis area has too many restaurants and food trucks to choose from if you want some authentic Mexican food. I ordered 2 pupusas 2 chorizo tacos, 1 pollo taco and a mangonada… sad to say the pupusas were a little under decent. The chorizo tacos were way too salty, the pollo taco was barely seasoned, and the mangonada used to be good per my last visit, but now they pre scoop them in cups, then put them in the freezer, frozen solid, Mine had to be in there longer than a week it just wasn’t good… Then to top it, there was language barrier, once she noticed I did not speak Spanish the cashier wasn’t not attentive and honestly came off rude at a certain point within...

It's an ice cream place, that serves pupusas and tacos. The service was a bit off, I believe she mostly spoke Spanish and was cleaning while we were there. I had to ask her twice where I could open the soda and she would just say in the counter and kept cleaning...

We had riguas, which were a bit thin but the flavor and the amazing crema made up for it. The pupusas felt almost like a Venezuelan or Colombian arepa but still delicious and served with curtido.
