We used to really love this store. They only reason we come back is for the meat selection. Customer service and politeness from workers has really gone down hill with certain employees they have. Not all of them. Apparently if they don’t accept a certain form of payment and you leave to grab another form of payment, upon return, the employees feel free to spread about misinformation to other employees like you don’t have the money to afford what you’re buying. You’ll then have several employees openly question you “Well, do you have the money to pay? We don’t want to waste our time if you don’t have the money.” First, it’s common professional courtesy that when something goes wrong at check out if should stay with the employees involved in the transaction. You don’t go around speaking illy of your customers. Second, what kind of customer service is it to question your customers in a degrading manner in front of whoever is present with no regard to how you’ll make them look or feel? Common sense is that if someone returns to get their groceries, they have the money and you not accepting a certain form of payment doesn’t automatically mean the customer has no money. Very rude a degrading experience, when we find another meat option, we will never be returning to this establishment. Very...
Read moreThe younger female cashiers are pretty snobby and Im getting tired of it. The older cashiers arent as bad. The men are nice. Its the females. God help it if you have a problem or need sincere help they cant help but clearly show their annoyance. They must not remember how hard it is to live in a small town where your options for living are limited and things are expensive. Especially if youre pregnant most of them act like youre nuts to need any assistance or show that youre not having an easy day. The food is expensive but its because of the convenience. Its not really the owners fault Id say on priciness but rather Conneauts overall greedy business town tone to survive here. All the businesses are expensive here, from the diners to gas stations. Its pretty hard to live in this town. They are quick as far as service goes and what dollar general doesnt have they normally do since competitors run out of stuff. They dont have much of any selection for personal items something they should invest a little more in. Its geared mostly to dinner making folk. Hours are not great either but chalk it up to small town...
Read moreMy first negative review in my life due to outrageous employee behavior (and the most shocking customer experience of my life). As an ex-employee years ago, and having just moved back to the area last year, I shop here as often as possible to keep money local. However, I encountered the RUDEST cashier, Annette, and will never shop there again if there is any chance that monster will be there. After I asked her nicely to be more gentle with the bagged snacks (chips, Tostitos, pretzels, etc), she continued to slap them down aggressively from a foot high onto the scanner (instead of gently sliding them), then roughly shoved them into the other groceries that were being bagged. When I asked he to PLEASE stop, she angrily yelled, “There is air in the bags!!” three times. After I told her that does NOTHING to help protect them and that she was rude (and then named the current owners and the founders telling her I would give feedback) she starts yelling “I’m sorry!” over and over very aggressively. I will call the owners, whom I have known...
