My son and I have been here about 4 times over the last two months. The staff and management are nice but they have clearly given up on trying to keep this place together. It is absolutely filthy inside. The carpets look like they've never been vacuumed let alone properly cleaned. There is so much stuff caked on the carpets and the benches that I have to sit down with water and napkins to clean the gunk off of my wheels so my legs would stop vibrating on the rink floors. Last night I had to sit down to clean them, I skated for another 20 minutes and my wheels were gunked up again, so we left. The rink floor has a lot of gouges and pits in it. They play the same playlist every Sunday and Wednesday so there isn't any variety in the music. Could be a great place to skate if the staff would do some cleaning and JUST TRY. We live in Hickory but we're going to have to start driving to Morganton to the Pavilion and hope...

The seating in the concession area, the railings, the bathroom fixtures, the games machines, and pretty much anything except the rink itself are all in a sorry state of disrepair. We went on a Saturday for a birthday party. The place was overbooked to a baffling extent (10 parties started and ended in the short time we were there), leading to a very short time alotted at the table, and draconian rules about who could be where and when. The crowding made what could be a spacious funzone into a claustrophobic hellscape.
That said, the rink itself seems to be in good shape. If you're coming just to skate, you can have a good time. Booking a party is a...
Read moreService is TERRIBLE , I brought some old skates to be repaired and it took them MORE than a month to even acknowledge us as customers, the owner/technician kept telling me next weekend, next weekend, ... this caused many unnecessary trips to hickory from morganton, I became very impatient with him when he told me he left them at his personal house, ...when I finally got them, he had DOUBLED the price from his already promised 12 dollars to 25 bucks...for little rubber pads that are extremely cheap and easy to install,... I learned a valuable lesson NEVER TO DEAL WITH SKATELAND , and never to trust someone who seems TOTALLY uninterested in gaining ANY repeat business. They are lazy and they will speak to you...
