OK here is my honest review of CR Laine if you decide to get a job here…… you get paid by piece work. And honestly it is extremely undervalued… “this is someone who has over +10 Years of experience.” First of all their final inspectors are ridiculous… when you are upholstering their furniture, they want you to pull the fabric so tight. That honestly there’s no point even to put padding on the furniture because it is rock solid hard….
The final inspectors would always tell me I’m not pulling my covers tight enough, but honestly I would pull with all of my strength…..And I’m 6’5 207lbs and I workout all the time….. Also a Chair that would take Atleast a hour to build "and you have to add all the foam padding and then recover the whole chair"
to inside a barrel chair chair out of Velvet they only wanted to pay you $18.97 Dollars to build it but yet that chair there going to sell for over $2000 dollars…. It’s Crazy….Also this is a trade… a craft…..Not everyone can just do this….
I can make more money delivering doordash…
however, the people are incredible. It is a phenomenal place to work….. everyone is so nice, including management. I have nothing bad to say personally about the people just the company and the Pay Per Piece.
After my two day trial, I went to management to negotiate my pay. I was asking for $22 an hour.
Because I told them I was not going to do piece work because of how undervalued it is
And I did not get the job, which I completely respect if they can find somebody else to build their furniture for that little of money then that’s great… It will not be me. Be warned if anyone thinks they can just walk up in there and build their furniture and make a lot of money. You are sadly mistaken, unless you have been there for a couple of years. And you had time to adjust. And get more repetitious with there furniture
This was not to be disrespectful toward the company just me Expressing my opinion as I said, it is an incredible place to work. Everyone is so nice!!!! I have so much respect for everyone there!!! Upholsters never die they always recover…
Life update got a upholstery job making 32/hr no piece work.. know youre worth... Don't settle for this place who takes advantage of...
Read moreWe bought two highly priced and supposedly high quality leather chairs manufactured by this company. Within 6 months the chairs faded and so we went back to the retailer to see what could be done. The retailer claimed no responsibility and referred us back to CRLaine. They told us that we had not cared for the chairs properly and stated that we should not have put them in sunlight. We told them that the chairs are in a north facing room and not subjected to sunlight. CRLAINE then told us that we should have window treatments to deflect direct sunlight. We told them that our north facing windows do in fact have sunlight defusion treatment and offered to have their reps come and inspect. They then went silent and wouldn’t respond. So, please please don’t deal with this company as you may get burned...
Read moreUnfortunately, I cannot recommend spending the money on this furniture. I was very excited to support a local handmade product, but I received damaged furniture and they handled it very poorly. I have had cheap furniture that has lasted longer. The legs of my chairs have wasted away in less than a year. They have ruined my hardwood floor due to the floor protector they installed snapping off in transit which exposed the nail on three legs. I was very disheartened to say the least. They compensated me by sending me plastic caps for my legs. ...
