Update: After I posted the previous review, which I never thought would be read by anyone from the salon, I got a call from the salon. I spoke to the owner who at first thought that I had posted someone else's pic below since my hair looked bad and not as good as it was in the salon. I explained to her that it didn’t look as good because of the lighting and also there was no styling. So I am changing the pic below to the one that I had actually ended up having the first time. Besides this minor confusion, the main reason they had called me was that they wanted me back in the salon to fix my hair. I never expected this and my intention to write a review was never to get any free service but they did to which I am very grateful. On this second time though, my colorist and I found out that it was all a minor miscommunication. When I told her I didn't want red, I meant to avoid auburn or dark reds. But I was up for colors with red undertone or copper. Once we cleared this out, I was out of salon in an hour max with a beautiful color. She just needed to tone my blonde and that was it. I also figured out that the style I need requires highlight which I hope to get next time. Oh also, everyone was still friendly and nice despite the awkwardness. I mean they were always nice as mentioned below but mentioning it again. Now I have darker hair with kind of caramel balayage. Thank you for reaching out Fabhair. 😊 -----————————————————————
I Never post bad reviews or reviews at all but had to share this. It’s not like I hate the service. My hair colorist was putting the effort but my comment here is just negative because the color I ended up with is not even close to what I wanted. In short, I didn’t want entire hair to be red or blonde hair. I had been blonde before and didn’t want to go thro that but also I just did not like blonde on me, like highlights are fine but definitely not entire hair. When I walked in, I had dark brown hair with a few caramel/copper highlights. I went to the salon for brightening up my hair. I wanted something to brighten up my look so like caramel highlights or copper balayage since my highlights were kinds of looking dull. I couldn’t explain much with words so showed the person the pic I wanted. I had mentioned how I wanted to avoid getting blonde or redhead. When she showed me final look, I almost died because I had turned all blonde. And not even the blonde I would have liked. Literally the yellow kind of blonde that I absolutely hate. 😭 I had to go for trip the next day and was looking forward to the trip since forever. So I almost cried knowing I would be with that hair for the trip. Again the staffs are great and this is not hate but if I had known I would be get a complete blonde hair at the end, I would have said no to it. But since the colorist looked so sure and when i asked if she understood, she said that she did I really trusted her. I am not putting her name because this is not to hate on anyone. But if you end up going to the salon, please don’t make the error I did and ask what color the styling is going to put on before they do anything. I ended up paying $275 plus i tipped her $55 because I can’t tip bad. But ya here are the pics to further explain. The first one is the one that I showed for what I wanted, and the second is what i had before color and the third is what they gave me. I am stuck with this hair for now. Like does it look...
Read moreI have never written a review on Google but this one is much needed. I had a consult with my stylist a few days in advance so we could be on the same page. I was excited to get some dimension back in my hair and add a bit of blond. We agreed on a partial balayage. Service and styling were both disappointing. Firstly, the whole appointment my stylist barely said a word to me. I tried making small talk to no avail lol the extra star goes to the very sweet girl who washed my hair that day. Second, my hair is NOTHING like what we agreed on. I asked for a balayage and received choppy highlights. Had to ask my old hairstylist if she can fix it and she agreed the color I was poorly done. (Mind you, I was getting balayage for 8 years before this and know what the technique looks like.) I let this sit for a few days to see if I could somehow grow to like it…but I’m embarrassed to have my hair down due to the uneven coloring. Bleaching hair is already damaging and I’m extremely disappointed that I now have to go get it fixed. I will not name the stylist, because I don’t believe that’s fair. But absolutely will not be coming back to this salon.
Update: Adding another star because salon did actually reach out for a correction appointment which I appreciate. I still, however, will not be returning to the salon as to not further damage my hair. See another photo attached with my natural hair...
Read moreI have been a client of Cara’s for several years, and have been so happy with her work that I have followed her from other salons. Cara is always attentive to what I’m looking to have done, and never just “goes through the motions”. She has helped me repair severely damaged hair, helps me determine the best cuts for my hair type, and keeps my grays covered with fabulous color even with all the challenges the seasons throw at my fine, naturally very light and sun-sensitive hair. Importantly, she is honest and never over promises but helps me find alternatives I’m always stoked with when my “ideas” aren’t always the right fit for my hair type. Most recently, she has done a fabulous job on extensions that look amazing!!
As for the salon itself, I can’t say enough good about the rest of the girls and the shop. All of the ladies here have been incredibly nice and welcoming. Prices are right, and the space is clean, well put together and organized, and has a super cute design. I have recommended Cara and the salon to my best friends and would...
