So I'm not sure where to start. Everything here was far below the standards we know that Marriot has for all its hotel brands and especially for Residence Inn. Our first impression was walking in through the entrance by the indoor pool, where trash, paper, and particles of drywall or plaster littered the hallway. Empty soda bottles were in the fitness center visible from the hallway. Check-in was ok, no initial issues. But we went to the elevator on the left and inside it smelled like vomit. Over the 2 days, we saw the elevator on the right creaks, groans, and pauses up to 10 sec before opening on the floor. No hotel is 100% perfect, so we figured that getting to the room would be the "normal" experience. Nope. We had reserved a queen bed, but had a full bed. The bathroom tub was dirty. There was no bathmat, just the dirty tub. The shower curtain is brown and yellow at the bottom. There were no toiletries. There was only 1 towel on a reservation for 3 adults. There were no sheets, blankets, or pillows for the sofa bed. The dishwasher was full of dishes. There were no coffee filters and no coffee. And the best part is there was actually an unused cigarette next to the coffee machine. So I went down to the front desk to ask about the bed we had reserved, the towels, and the sofa bed sheets. Amazingly, both the desk clerk and the manager on duty tried hard to convince me that the Marriot standard is for a "queen suite" bed, which looks like a full bed. As a gold elite member who has stayed in many Residence Inns, that was news to me. When I said that "queen" refers to the size of bed and "suite" refers to the type of room, both the desk clerk and the manager on duty said that in Marriot, that is not correct. The manager on duty then went to the back and came out with sheets and pillows and said I could take them upstairs. I asked about the towels. She went back and came out again and once she handed them to me, I thanked her and went back up in the vomit elevator. I thought maybe it was just a bad day and that the next morning surely at least the floors would be vacuumed. Nope. The same trash in the hallways and in the fitness center were there. Then I really started looking. The majority of hallway walls are beat up, scarred, and marked. I found a hole punched in a stairway drywall. And the odd thing is none of it was addressed. Odder still was trying to convince me that "queen suite" is a kind of bed. So I have pictures of all this....

Sadly, to give no stars is not an option. The outside of the hotel gives you the impression that the hotel is nicely kept and put together. Evident by the attached pictures, that is not the case.
The hotel design is a bit odd. You come in to entrance doors on the first floor. The front desk in on the second floor. It is not clearly indicated. A hotel guest informed us where the front desk was and how to get to it.
The front desk staff, to say the least, is not very helpful, courteous, or professional. When you call down, there is no greeting, they answer you very abruptly.
1st draw back, was asked if there were any special accommodations needed. Staying in the suite with an individual that walks with a cane. So a room closer to access to the car would be best. The room we're staying in is on the sixth floor.
The TV has been having issues since checking in. The picture is choppy. Front desk has been notified. I was told to unplug and plug back in the TV. That was a fail to help. Someone was to come and check it out. That call was placed at 10am; now 3p and still having the issue and no service. They have been called since the first call. Lost cause at this point.
The Wi-Fi is horrible. Unable to get connection on any device. The Wi-Fi for the hotel does present itself but does not connect. Front desk was called. Was directed to restart the items that we want to connect to.
Due to the extended stay and COV-19, I'm aware that there is no daily housekeeping. Called down to Front Desk to ask about getting a vacuum. The front desk associate immediately asked if the room wasn't vacuumed. Stated the reason for wanting the vacuum. Was told that if housekeeping is using it then we are unable to have. That gives the impression there is a limited number of resources within this hotel.
I am very disappointed with hotel this far.
UPDATE
Was relocated to a different room. Things started out rough in the room. The air was not working properly. Called to front desk. The next day it was taken care of.
The cable and internet connection was much better in this room.
Overall, was pleased with the hotel after the room change. Changing my initial 1 star rating...
Read moreVery displeased with our experience at the Conshohocken Residence Inn and have since canceled a future reservation we had to stay here. Here are just a few of the issues:
-Hotel supposedly had all renovated rooms. While the carpet may have been newer in our room, the plastic surface of the toilet seat had wrinkles and may it appear at first as if it had pee spots on it. The shower was definitely older and the mattress on the pullout (we booked a suite) was extremely old and about as uncomfortable as sleeping on the floor. -We made a reservation for 4 adults yet discovered when we entered our room that there were only 2 towels, no bath mat, and no sheets or blankets for the pullout. -When we called down to the front desk to request towels and blankets, the front desk person said that she wouldn’t be able to have it sent up and we had to go down to retrieve these. We then had to wait a long time at the front desk for them and the blankets were THE SCRATCHIEST we have ever experienced. -The bed didn’t even have standard size pillows, so they didn’t cover the width of the queen bed in the room. -The HVAC machine was in the bedroom and extremely loud, so it was disruptive throughout the night. -There were no ice machines or water fountains in the hotel. We were told we had to go into the associates only door to the kitchen to ask the busy kitchen staff to fill our bottles with ice. We were curtly told at breakfast that they had no water (who doesn’t make water available at breakfast?!????) and that we would have to go to the front desk to purchase it if we wanted it. The coffee at breakfast was reasonable. -There were no rollaway beds available. -Our shower drain was clogged and backing up a bit the first morning. The second morning, the entire tub filled and we couldn’t all shower in it. They did not send anyone to fix it before we had to check out. The front desk person was helpful, though, when I showed up sweaty after a run and did allow me into another room to shower. -Parking costs $8/day.
We will not stay here again and have cancelled the reservation we had. We strongly caution against...
