I came in for a relaxer touch up based on a review I read. Instead of the owner doing my hair, she sent me to the lady in the back with the short gray hair. I don’t think she’s ever worked in the hair salon before that day. If she has, she is very unfamiliar with thicker, coarser textures. Not to mention, she barely speaks English at all. I had to remind her to base my scalp after she already started putting relaxer in it. She kept stopping to ask the owner questions and to get her to translate what I was saying. It got to the point where the owner was babysitting her. I already waited over an hour to be seen. She might as well have just taken me herself. I had to remind the lady to put conditioner in my hair after the relaxer was rinsed out and to let me sit under the dryer with the conditioner. I was under the dryer for forever for no reason. And then I was sitting again after the dryer was done for probably another half hour. I had to remind the owner to trim my hair and she told me I didn’t need it, probably because she wanted to finally get me out the door. Unfortunately, I was still charged the full price with a trim included when I didn’t get a trim. I was in the salon for five hours. For that kind of time, I should’ve had a head full of box braids. While I was waiting initially, I noticed how everyone in the salon moves in slow motion smh.The overall experience made me unhappy. And even with all that my hair was still a little under processed. Heidi’s daughter Yelany is an up-and-coming stylist who’s following beautifully in her mom’s footsteps. She’s talented, attentive, and has such a great attitude — definitely a “mini-me” of Heidy in the best way possible.

One of the newer stylists, Sonny, is also fantastic. Always professionally dressed and radiating positivity, she greets every client with the warmest smile and provides excellent service.
