Omg, the worst experience I have ever Had! New to the area, went to the penny store in Sarasota with my daughter in law and her mom. We were looking for curtains for my new home. When we first arrived, we saw a display and found two of the panel designs we were looking for. My daughter in law went online while at the store. The price for each panel at the store was $50. Online there was a 60% coupon. So she used her phone to order online to get the discount! We only found the one set of panels that they had at the store. When we tried to order online for the second set that we liked. It said it was out of stock. Okay, then we tried to see if the out of stock item was available at another store.we were told there was only one panel at the port Charlotte store. When my daughter in law asked that she purchase the first two panels that she had in her hand, she was told no, you ordered them online and we have to wait for notification that these were ordered, go and pick them off the shelve and then notify you that you can come to pick them up! She had them in her hands!!! In the meantime, while we were still looking for other merchandise, this weird guy kept walking by us at least 7 to 8 times. It was getting really creepy. He didn't say anything, just kept walking by looking at us . Anyway, we ended up leaving, waiting for a message that the order was received, maybe about an hour after we left the store. We returned and paid for the curtians. That alone was a fiasco but then we went home to look online for something else since they didn't have the second pair of panels we wanted. We found some that we liked and placed an order online to pick up at the same store. Online took my payment and stated that they were in stock. My daughter in law and her mom went to pick them up for me and were told. Oh, no. Those are only display! When asked, to purchase them, they were denied. The creepy guy from the day before said it was am inventory issue. When my daughter in law got annoyed at the whole two day experience, she said forget it, I'm never coming here again. The creepy guy, Tim was his name, actually followed them outside thinking they stole the curtains! What is that. Not only was this guy the most creepiest stalker, he was insinuating that they stole the stupid curtains. The lack of customer service, along with the abuse of this employee is despicable. For a huge company like if penny, you would think your business was important to them. On the other hand, the employees are the face of the business and this is just wrong! You offer great discounts online, have false or inaccurate information about you products availability, but when you come face to face with your employees, omg it's a disgrace! I visited the beauty department earlier in the week and saw the great markdowns of products, in which, would be used to make beauty boxes for my holiday gifts. Salesclerk, at that time, told of markdowns before and after thanksgiving and to return. I did return and gather all the products for purchase. Ask the clerk if I could make a partial payment with two bank cards, she answered yes. The 1st clerk ask for another clerk to assist and I FOLLOWED THE REQUESTS. I was told the system froze and the products would need to be re-rung âokâ. Next moves solidified several problems, 1) I was charged for the 1st transaction; 2) There was a 2nd attempt to charge my bank cards and this âdeclined â. I checked my bank and the 1st attempt was being processed. 3) 3rd employee appears and shows a handheld device stating âthere was no transaction in JcPenneyâs systemâ, a) to reverse pymt b) to allow this transaction to be completed c) I would need to pay with another card. I was told by the 1st and 2nd clerk that I could have the items placed on hold. I told the clerk I had and appt and would return shortly and hoped the system would be up and running to see this transaction. Upon return they neither kept the products avail as suggested, the frozen system was running but there was no transaction âTO FINDâ. Bank of America, verified each transaction (processed and declined attempt). I showed your manager âDavidâ and his comment was â1) I removed my card prematurely (I followed your clerks instructions; 2) we donât have your monies the bank has your monies.â Needless to say I became very irritated (raised my voice) with the lack of âempathy, blatant lie to David as to my financial action and how your store in Sarasota never attempted to address the clerks lack of ability to process the transaction correctly. If your systems are not equipped to handle these issues then IT should have been addressed to relieve any burden of proof. I feel from a customer standpoint this is consumer fraud and when I mentioned to your manager David, âhe barked at me are you a lawyer?âNot sure this should have been mentioned in our convo, as I have the transactions on my account in black and white.    Read moreI would like to share my extremely dissatisfying experience with JCPenney Sarasota through this review. I recently purchased a 1 ct diamond ring, but it came with the wrong certificate. Despite my numerous attempts, it has been impossible to get in touch with the store to obtain the correct certificate. This has caused immense frustration and disappointment.
While the ring itself is beautiful, the certificate provided does not align with the advertised spesifications. This misleading information has devalued the product, and I am deeply disappointed with JCPenney Sarasota.
It is particularly frustrating that reaching the store to rectify this situation has been impossible. I have been trying to contact them over the phone for several weeks, but there has been no response. Unfortunately, I am unable to visit the store in person as the purchase was made while I was on vacation.
I strongly urge JCPenney Sarasota to take this matter seriously and immediately rectify the issue by providing me with the correct certificate that matches the advertised specifications.
