Chris and Joe provide an amazing, no pressure experience. Unlike other places, they are fair, honest and will work with whatever budget you bring to them. There goal is to create long lasting customers and it shows.

Most recently I came looking to pick up a Rel subwoofer and had a bunch of questions. I noticed they had some amazing looking cables laying around and came to find out they are in the process of designing their own cable line. I asked if I could get a pair and they were happy to accommodate me.

Joe made a pair based on what I wanted: pair of 12ft cables with bi wire capability in neon orange. Usually I make my own cables as from my own experience, hand built cables rival, if not sound better, then the over priced, but pretty, audioquest cables. What I received were a pair of cables rivaling the AQ build quality. The thing that really floored me were the sound signature of the cables. They added more air to the mids and extended the highs providing increased detail while vastly extending the sound stage by 2-3x. Speaker wires are usually one of those things that provide very little in return for the cost. $3000 cables sound better then $100 cables, but they do not sound 30x better. Props to Joe at Origin HiFi, who came out to my place to help fine tune my system after 5+ years of living with "something sounding off" after a move.

As I was moving some cables around in the back, I noticed Joe lightly tapping on my speaker cones. After I came back around front, he pointed out that the culprit was the gray rubber surrounds on my drivers which had hardened into very rigid gray plastic that had no flex to it at all, and had actually started developing some very fine hairline cracks—apparently a common issue.

He then called a shop that repairs speakers to make sure they were up to the task and helped me remove the drivers from the cabinets so I could drop them off to have the surrounds replaced. Once I got the repaired drivers back home and installed, Joe came back out to help me figure out the best way to wire my sub in with the rest of my system (since there were a half dozen options in the manual that would all have worked with my system), then finally did what I'd initially asked him to come out for…which was the actual fine tuning.

My system now sounds better than it's ever sounded and it never would have occurred to me to inspect the surrounds that closely since they looked perfectly normal from an arm’s length away—usually the closest I ever...

Having recently come from a big box experience where you were treated as another customer and had to follow up continuously to get your home theater designed, it was a welcome experience to work with Origin HiFi. Origin HiFi sat me down, asked what I was trying to do and worked within my constraints to deliver the best sounding system possible. The KEF THX theater system with KEF blade main speakers driven with an ATI 6007 turned out really nice!

Origin HiFi also engaged vendor specialists on varying aspects of my theater design from custom cable selection, to speaker pairing and amp selection. Moreover, Origin HiFi was there post sale following up on any concerns or questions that I had with my theater.
