Chatpatti Chaat — Restaurant in Austin

We were totally disappointed with this place. Went there with a lot of expectation and they were further increased due to the long lines we saw waiting to place an order. Ordered the chatpatti special chat, Raj Kachori, Sev puri, Dahi puri, Dabeli, Vada Pav, Mango Lassi and Thandai. So we’ve tried enough variety to know that it’s wasn’t just one poorly made dish. None had any flavor. The vada pav was excessively hot/spicy. The chat items had no taste. The Raj kachori was a joke. It wasn’t a kachori at all. It was a hard fried papdi with some weird toppings like boiled moong and tutti-frutti?? Seriously?

The special chatpatti chat was a mix of papdi n some other similar fried crisps and a dahi vada. Would have been a decent dish if not for the hard and under fermented vada and the tasteless chutneys.

The only plausible explanation to the utterly tasteless experience could be that the main chef wasn’t around when we visited? Cannot really understand the long lines if this was the norm.

Nice location and tasty food. Have been visiting this place for last 6 months and had great experience. But today I had a bad experience, where the food (Chatpatti special chat) I ordered had hair of their women cook and it shows the quality of food making behind the screen. It was highly disgusting & disappointing and would not to be visiting this place any more. They didn’t refund the money, instead gave another plate of Chatpatti special chat, though I told them not to prepare another one. You should have either refunded the money as requested or provided a complimentary service for my order. I ended up throwing the food in trash, which I hate to do.

I request Chatpatti team to wear hair mask in the kitchen. You have a good reputation in the area and I would request you to take care of kitchen hygiene to continue maintaining your reputation. I have been telling my friends to visit this place and wouldn’t recommend this...

Hello everyone! I am the daughter of the owner and chef of Chatpatti Chaat. We have noticed a trend of fake negative reviews on our Google page, which our Legal Team is investigating. We verified that the customers leaving negative reviews have not visited our food truck. We have responded to them accordingly. We have been open for only a month and are very grateful for the overwhelming support from all our customers.

We opened this food truck to serve fresh food and provide great service to all our customers. As you can see in the other reviews on our page, almost all our customers have had a great experience while visiting Chatpatti Chaat.

We’re not focused on portraying a page with all 5 star reviews, especially fake ones, which is something our competitors believe in. Our goal is to provide a five star experience which is reflected in the reviews on our page.
