Looking for some sweet treats during your visit to Austin? Here are some of our favorites! 1. Churro Co. - we love this place for all of their churro dessert mash-ups! Our favorite was the S’mores Churro. If it’s a hot day, they also have a Mexican Coke Float which is sure to hit the spot! @churrocoaustin 2. Prohibition Creamery - mom and dads favorite sweet treat! Don’t worry, they have plain ice cream for the kiddo’s. The boozy ice cream shakes here are possibly life changing. @prohibitioncreamery 3. Gourdough’s Big Fat Donuts - are just that. Giant, rich donuts that can easily be shared. Fun flavors will make you want to order too many, be warned! @gourdoughsdonuts 4. Amy’s Ice Creams - can be found in several locations around the city. Their classic premium ice creams are undeniably delicious in the summer heat. They also offer banana splits, milkshakes, smoothies and more, if simply ice cream is not enough! @amysicecreams Have we mentioned that sweet treats on vacation work as excellent bribes for well behaved kids? No? Well, no you know our secret! 😆 Save this post for your Austin visit 🍩 . . . . . . . . . #austineats #austinfoodie #austinfood #austinfoodstagram #foodie #atxfood #atxfoodie #atxeats #atx #austin #visitaustin #austintexas #familytraveltribe #familytravels #travelwithkids #viajarconniños #familiaviajera #travelfam #adventurefamily #travelfamily #familyadventures #traveltip #familytravelblog #gowithnugget #traveltips #amoviajar #viajaresvivir #viajarconniños #kidswhotravel

A secret door to enter sets the tone. Wonderfully decorated. There is not a bad seat in this very chill bar. Good selections in your favorite spirit. The service that evening was attentive. Good music. All of our drinks, including specialty drink orders, arrived strong and did not disappoint. I highly recommend wetting your whistle at Prohibition ATX. Your date will likely dig the looks of the place, and she will think you are way cooler for picking this place as a respite from the oppressive heat of summer.

Prohibition ATX is a hidden gem in N Austin of Anderson Mill. It has been open for about a year now and I’m just now hearing about it! Adam, the bartender, did a great job concocting off-menu drinks for us like my mezcal sour (you’ll have to ask him what all he put into it); it was called Jazz Hands, I believe. Cool spot behind the bookshelf. It is a cigar lounge as well so the small space can get pretty smoky. I enjoyed my time there and will be back to try something new.

Inconsistent recipes and subpar service. We ordered two pursuits of happiness first and they were good, average, but good. After we ordered another and it was completely different in smell and taste. It smelled like a fire pit, not a good smoke smell, and tasted terrible, nothing like the first two. We checked the menu and the drink we ordered does not describe it as containing smoke but another similar one does. My friend went to the bartender to inquire and the she just told her she made it and that it was correct. So my friend came back to the table with the same drink. I said that’s not right, we tried it again and it’s completely different and smells terrible. I took it to the bar this time and tell them again. Both bartenders come up to me, smell and taste it and continue to argue that it’s the drink we ordered. I said to just take it off then because it’s not what we ordered or got the first time and we don’t like it. Not once did they offer to remake it or replace it with something else. They argued and were frankly very prideful in that they made the right drink. Either our first drink was wrong or the second one was, doesn’t matter, I expect better service from an establishment touting itself as an upscale speakeasy. Also their menu is just less creative than the ones downtown. Overall a poor note to end my birthday night and was excited to live down the street from this place but likely won’t be...

Went in and decor was a little all over the place but we were excited to give it a chance. Got our drinks and sat down. Floor and tables were sticky in spots. My drink was alright, nothing special, but my partner’s drink was too sweet. So she went to request another. He proceeded to question what was wrong with it and when she said it was too sweet he grabbed a straw, took some, and tried it and lo and behold he agreed. He sort of stared whilst offering no solutions until she asked if it could be made less sweet. He remade the drink less sweet and had her try it in front of him and then lectured that next time she should specify the level of sweetness she wanted and that he was helping her for the future like she needed advice ordering at a bar and that it was presumptuous to assume a signature drink would have a reasonable level of sweetness. We promptly left after paying our $35 for two mediocre at...

Didn’t like my drink, asked to have my drink remade or a different drink because it was too sweet. Bartender tried the drink (with a straw, but that’s still weird) then remade the drink and of course it was still too sweet lol. I said it’s fine and then he lectured me about how if I know I don’t like sweet drinks I need to learn to ask for drinks less sweet in the first place. It came across as very condescending so booo to him. The tables were sticky, the floor was sticky, and the water station was empty the whole time we were there. 2 drinks = $35 which is crazy! Just go to a speakeasy downtown instead and you’ll find better drinks and a...
