I go to this Food Depot location all the time. The last 2 times I have went in the store (4/12/25 and one day the week prior), I went to the same cashier's line. The cashier's name is Gregory, an elderly white man. The first time I went through his line, it was a white lady in front of me that he was very pleasant to and he was talking her ear off. When she left and he got to me he didn't speak or give me my total or tell me thank you. When I went through his line today, he did the same thing. He didn't speak and then he had to verify my birthday because I was purchasing some wine and when I showed it to him, he says "I can't see the year" but he said it with an attitude or like he was irritated. Then I had a soda that he was trying to scan and it wouldn't scan. He was like how much was it, and I said I got it from the cooler right here in front of the register. So a young lady behind me said I will give you another one to scan. He shakes his head and said "I don't need you to give me one, I just need to know how much it is". The way he said it was in a very rude and nasty way. I feel as though he is prejudice. I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I have gotten from him the last two times I have gone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the grocery store closest to my home and I used to frequent it. A little backstory about me - I prefer my food to be as fresh as possible, which mean I prefer to spend a lot of money on produce over boxed or canned crap that everyone else are eating. The last two times I shopped here really turned me off. The first time, I was checking out snack bags of celery sticks and they were mushy. I checked the expiration date and THEY ALL WERE FIVE WEEKS PAST THEIR EXPIRATION DATE. And don't get me started on the oranges and the apples. The next time - which was my last time - I was preparing to make a 7 layer salad and none of the produce that I was preparing to use were in good condition. All of the lettuce, for example, were all too brown, and the bell peppers all had that sort of dents on them that would show up if they had been left out too long. It's crazy that a store, that typically have 10 employees at checkout at all times, wouldn't check to ensure that their produce is up to date....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo be a current resident of Rockdale County for going on 13+ years, I find it heartbreaking that one of the what could be deemed "focal" grocery stores in the community does not appreciate everyone equally and shows discriminatory behavior when expressing your concerns for their customer service; by threatening customers with surveillance footage (James the employee), stating verbatim "They won't get in trouble for those type of people" (Rita the employee), allowing employees to be away from their place of work (cashier stand) (Also Rita the employee), and deflecting with a aggressive attitude when the party who should be showing those frustrations are simply trying to find a solution. This isn't the first but one of many incidents that have placed to a point where I will no longer patronize this company. Good customer service, great prices, and great integrity are the main three things I look for in a business - Honey Creek Food Depot does NOT exemplify that. Take your business and hard earned...
