A couple of years ago I went to a Cheers Pablo event hosted by a local VFW. I had so much fun that I ended up doing 3 more events at the same venue. Even though I'm not artistic, the instruction and help received on each painting made every time a great experience and I have all of my past paintings hanging in my apartment living room. Tonight I went with another person to the Coon Rapids location for a class and was completely disappointed. There were two staff people at the location. The person "teaching" the class, Kelsey, stood directly in front of the canvas while she was painting so seeing anything was impossible. There really wasn't any depth to the instruction, and when she was done demonstrating she would join the other staff person, Deb, in the office where the door was marked "private." I personally didn't feel like even if I wanted to ask a question they were open to helping. If this had been my first experience with Cheers Pablo it would have also been my last. I wouldn't attend another class held at any of the Cheers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOMG! This place is SO FUN! I havenāt painted since I was 13 years old and I was really excited to do a session with them. This was very laid back and we had a great instructor. Like I said - I havenāt painted since I was a kid and I was nervous (silly me) because Iām so untalented and have ZERO training or talent. But I painted a picture and I feel like I learned a few things. Mostly, it killed the apprehension inside of me. Now I feel like I can let the artist in me out and I now have some confidence. They provide everything (canvas, paint and brushes) - you only need to bring yourself and maybe a friend Thereās wine and egg rolls for those who want to snack and paint. The classes are small and are for all ages. I canāt stress enough HOW MUCH I think people should do this! It was a great, new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorse paint-ful experience. I saw in this place an opportunity for my wife to continue her passion for painting, I got her a gift card for mothers day and later on she booked her mom for the event on July 3rd. Unfortunately the day of the event the manager/owner couldn't verify the transactions from our payments and in the middle of her frustration this lady basically humiliated my wife and my mother in law in front of the other attendants. Neither mom or wife enjoyed this activity, at the end of the event my wife called me in tears because apparently the manager made her a favor giving away the gift certificate.
My bad for paying $35 to someone to make cry my wife for...
