On January 31st, we went in to purchase a pink Xbox controller. There was a preowned one available, but we wanted a new one for our daughterâs birthday. Andrew, the store manager processed an online order for the Xbox controller and said it should be at our house within one to two business days.
Well, the order never showed up and it was actually canceled. They had none in stock.
We called the store and was told to contact the customer service line, which we did. We were told that they were not going to be processing our order and giving us a refund.
After waiting about five or six days, we received a re-processing order explaining that they were going to be sending us our order. At this point, we were confused we thought we were receiving a refund.
When we receive the order, we held the order until we needed to give it to our daughter. Well, our daughter just opened the gift today and the controller is not brand new. Itâs certified preowned.
We contacted the customer service line with extreme frustration and was met with hostility.
They let us know that because we did not contact within the seven day window after receiving the item that we are not eligible to receive a refund. And that if anything was wrong with the controller that we had one business day to bring it back to the store in order to get a new certified preowned replacement.
We did not want a refund. We just wanted a brand new controller. Not a certified preowned controller.
After looking online, we noticed that the difference between a certified preowned and a brand new controller is a difference of three dollars. We wouldâve never purchased a certified preowned ever, And after analyzing the price difference, it further proves that we wouldâve never ordered a certified preowned controller.
We asked the customer service line how this was possible and they informed us that whoever processed the order in store, a.k.a. the manager Andrew, processed the order as a certified preowned controller.
We never had a brand new controller coming.
The customer service agent after being extremely rude told us to call the store.
So we did. We called the store today informed them of our issue and were told to call the customer service line.
We informed them that we already called the customer service line.
The store associate let us know that they had no idea who processed the order, and they were in the middle of helping someone with a trade in and didnât have time to have a conversation with us about what we were experiencing.
We informed them that Andrew was the person who processed the order and that we never wanted a certified preowned controller. There was a certified preowned controller in store when we made this order and that we did not want it and we were wondering, how did this situation happened when the price difference between what we paid for the certified preowned and a brand new controller were a mere three dollars.
The store associate was rude and dismissive let us know that we can come into the store tomorrow morning and argue with Andrew about what happened and why he processed our order as certified preowned, since he has no information and has no idea whatâs going on.
From reading all of the reviews here about all of the negativity that they have experience and getting thrown out of the store after dealing with Andrew, we wonât be coming in to have a conversation with him.
We will be taking up this matter with our bank and figuring out what we can do in order to report the issue to GameStop.
Note: We always use GameStop over going to any other retailer. Weâve never used this GameStop before. We usually go to the one in Northtown and have never...
Read moreFirst time here to buy some cards I waited outside in line holding spots with my friend and brother for my mom and sister who were waiting in the car and we were waiting at 9am btw. people coming late saying that we can't do that and to some level I can agree with that but the people behind us and there were like 7 people behind us saying that it was our spot when the doors open the people who came late realized they weren't going to get any cards and said that my mom and sister weren't waiting in line but in the car I tried to argue that me and my brother were holding spots for them but the guy wasn't listening (the employee's name was Andrew). I was just talking and giving him no attitude and he's just responding in a smart ass tone and the people behind us were trying to help us out and one of the guys who came late were saying lets not get worked up over a bunch of cards and the audacity for him to say that when he's the one who started the whole thing and then the argument keeps going and the cashier (andrew) almost didn't let me or my brother and friend buy anything at all. When it was all over he tried to make it seem that my brother wasn't in the line so he almost didn't get to buy it so after all that was done we bought our stuff and left, dude didnt even offer any of us a bag and the people in front of us all got bags with no questions asked.
Now I'm not even mad that they didn't let my mom or sister buy cards. I'm mad that he (Andrew) almost didn't let me or my brother and friend buy cards when we came and waited outside of his store for 2 hours and how he tried to make it seem that my brother didn't wait in line. How he handled it was so unprofessional. I didn't give any attitude towards the guy (Andrew) , just a little confusion mostly because of how he was running things and how he was handling the situation. He's just responding in a smart ass tone Honestly I think he was trying to kick us out so the people at the end could get cards. If I could give this a 0 Star I would. Overall 10/10 do not recommend I wouldn't go back even if...
Read moreLet me just say this⌠leaving Star, the new employee, alone to run the store is a huge mistake.
1st trip: picking up graded cards, star unaware of how to do everything had to call the manager for help. Then the store got busy, star panicked and told me to leave⌠a paying customer, because they didnât know what to do and to come back another time. Just wow.
2nd trip: Star again by themself and unable to do my card trade in. Wrote a piece of paper receipt appointment for someone else to help me tomorrow. Turned away again.
3rd trip: nobody in the store besides me. Checking on my previous order that star didnât know what to do. Manager assured me on the phone everything was good and star could handle my transaction. Star could not. Star bounced around having conversations about video games and other hobby topics with every other customer and even realized he was distracted and said âI should probably do my job.â THIS KID SHOULD NOT BE LEFT ALONE TO RUN THE STORE.
Terrible management to have an employee with a clear lack of awareness for what the job duty entails. A huge line built up behind me, he called the manager to help, the manager cleared out the entire line before Star was able to process my transaction.
Star also was unaware of the promotion going on and how it worked so quoted me at a higher rate than what I actually got.
I wonât be bringing business back here. You...
