I checked out the Kirkland's in Coon Rapids the other night. Very nice store. I bought some items and brought them home. I showed my husband what I bought and asked him if he wanted to go back there as there were some other items i wanted to purchase. He did and one of the items we bought was a flower wall ornament that was slightly damaged. It was discounted a couple of dollars and one of the salesladies showed me where it was damaged. I hadn't even noticed it until she pointed it out. I took it home and removed it from the package only to find out that there was even more extensive damage than was pointed out. Now, the tag did say not returnable on the product. And if the clerk would have pointed out the additional damage I would have not purchased the item. I took it back and the same lady that sold it to me helped me again. I pointed out the additional damage and she said we will take it back. I told her i wanted to purchase an additional item and she said OK. When I returned with the item i wanted to exchange for the damaged item, I was told by the sales lady that her decision to exchange was over ruled by a manager. The manager came over to the counter and said we can not take this back. When we explained that the damage that we purchased it under was not all the damage and felt that it was sold under false information, she responded "that doesn't matter it says here NOT RETURNABLE and we aren't going to return it. The item we wanted to return was $18.99, the item we wanted to purchase was $16.99 So we are talking a net difference of $2.00 which this manager was willing to lose a customer over. We left the store, told her that if this your example of customer service, it sucks. So you have lost a customer, one that spends a fair amount at Home Goods and was very impressed with your store until the treatment I received by your manager. And if she wanted to set an example to her associates that were gathered around her as she "laid down the Law" on how you make sure a customer never comes back, she did. By the way, we left the damaged item there with instructions to throw it in the dumpster because it was so damaged it really wasn't worth the money...
Read moreI ordered a large 3 piece wooden map online and had it shipped to the Riverdale location. My order was received in the store damaged twice so I had to wait for a new order (twice). However, the sales associates were very apologetic (even though they obviously had no part in damaging my product) and gave me an additional discount. When there was confusion about the amount of money credited to my card (for discount), 2 associates got on the phone to fix it. When they were unable to get in contact with anyone (Sunday) they told me they would make more calls the next day to straighten it out. They were prompt in leaving me a message the next day sharing that it was all resolved. One sales associateâs name was Jacqueline and I did not catch the other one. Thanks for doing your job with...
Read moreChanged from 3 stars to two because when I went in today the smell was sooooo gross and sooooo strong that I left after about 3 minutes. Not everyone appreciates that strong scent. Home decor items and good prices. There is not a lot of variety, but it's worth a look. I'd give it more stars but there is always a gross smell in there - some kind of candle or potpourri or something. It's...
