City of Corinth — Local services in Corinth

The city had great potential at one time but for the last several years whether due to mismanagement or lack of motivation has moved backwards. Developments are now primarily rentals and apartments and there is no organization to where they are put. This city has no post office, no library, no recreation center, no senior center, no animal shelter and now no animal services because they contract with the town of Hickory Creek. They share Fire and EMS with Shady Shores, Lake Dallas and Hickory Creek. There is only one real grocery store and retail is greatly lacking unless you frequent vape shops, liquor stores, pizza places or enjoy chicken wings. It's a mystery where all of the tax dollars go (property tax is high) and even many of the subdivisions are starting to look run down like the rest of the city. Water pipes have constant issues, junked cars and parking in the streets is an absolute nightmare, drug dealing is more frequently done in the open and Spectrum can charge you a fortune because they pretty much have a monopoly for cable and internet here. It is Tuesday August 19th an oversight on my bill due date. Called the utility department to be told I was on a “turnoff list”. Did you know that even if you do pay before they arrive to your house and no service interruption has been fulfilled, you are told you have to wait till they come turn it off and come back to turn your water back on? How absolutely ridiculous. Yet they gave me an extra day to pay, and wouldn’t be turned off “If the truck driver crew gets their notification”. Now you tell me, why was I told nothing can be done, nothing, yet a secondary employee was not only able to give me the extra day, however stipulated “only if notification is received by the crew” make sense? No where on your bill does it say “Interruption of service before 11am if payment is not received on cut off date?” All my bill says is “interruption date”. On the 19th, so you tell me at the end of the business day is it still not the 19th till 11:59pm? As for double standards one says one thing the other says something else well no wonder the rates are 3.9 do better...

Utility billing department says one thing and does another. Base rate for water and trash is $125 per month, you kidding? Sold a property and new owner didn't update utilities to his name. When I discovered the issue I called the billing department and was told I would be refunded. Now I'm being billed yet again a month later.
