I ordered a new firearm online. It's a two hour drive for me to get to this location. For the paperwork, I called before leaving and they told me they close at 8 and as long as I got there by 7:30 they could complete everything. I showed up at 7:04 and the girl behind the gun counter then says they stop processing firearms at 7. I explain that I called first and just drove two hours. She thankfully processes the paperwork. During this I specifically ask if the 10 day waiting period was time sensitive. "Since I completed the paperwork in the evening, do I have to wait until after 7 to return and pick it up?" She looked me in the eye and said I could come anytime on Sunday. I excitedly reply that I'll be there when they open.
So yesterday morning, I make the drive to Corona and when I get there it's apparent some people have appointments. It was never explained how important appointments are at this location when I was filling out the paperwork 10 days prior. After chatting with several of the 8-9 other people holding tickets, they said appointments weren't explained to them as well. Was also informed that the only time a ticket is called, is when an appointment doesn't show up for the time slot and thus the line is moving quite slow. I grab a ticket and proceed to stand around for 4.5 hours. Finally, my number was called (because of a bunch of other people with numbers ahead of me became frustrated and left) and it was the same girl from 10 days before. She goes in back to get the firearm, then comes out and says that she is taking her lunch now. A different guy comes out with my firearm, starts typing into the computer. He then tells me they can't transfer the firearm to me today because the 10 day waiting period IS time sensitive and they close on Sundays at 6pm. I was so frustrated because I specifically asked 10 days prior if the waiting period was time sensitive. Wasted 9 hours on a holiday weekend along with a tank of gas trying to pick up a $1000 purchase. The guy behind the counter offered an appointment for two weeks in the future when I'll be out of town. After stating how incredibly unprofessional and frustrating this entire experience has been, he offered an appointment the next morning. Ended up taking off work today to do the round trip all over again to pick up my purchase. This entire experience could of been easily avoided by employees simply providing the correct information when asked. Folks may be better off finding an FFL and paying the shipping/firearm transfer fee than dealing with Corona Sportmans Warehouse for...
Read moreI'm sure you can't see it, but I'm doing a happy dance LOL... My new tie for 1st place and overall best location to purchase California compliant firearms and ammunition. With that said it's tied for a reason. You may find your self standing in line for some time. Well worth the wait as you'll be extremely happy with low cost firearm and or ammo prices as well inverory.....YES Inventory!!!! While other store shelves are empty or extremely limited on inventory. Went back 4 separate days over the first two weeks open and successfully found and purchased 9mm luger range & home defense ammo (50ct were on sale one visit @ $11.99 limit 5 😲as part of their grand opening sale,/ $21.99 50ct limit 2 on my other visits, found 12gauge under $9 as well on those visits. Safe to say this is your best bet when you need to .make ammo purchases. Kudos to corporate for making this available stock possible. Also worth noting: The staff is friendly & knowledgeable, while there I observed customers new to fire arms with a hundred questions ranging from state laws to general gun knowledge, as well as seasoned arms owners keeping up on new state laws / compliance, as well as what's newly available on the market. All were knowledgeably answered and treated equally with a smile. Almost as if they enjoyed the opportunity to provide exceptional quality customer service to every customer. Which if you've been to more than one gun shop youve surely seen the wide range of help given, limited quality and or exploration of questions answered, and the good, bad, and ugly attitudes that may come with those answers. We all share the same right to bare arms that comes with our 2nd amendment and this stores staff does a stellar job supporting that for all their customers, young & old, new or experienced. Sportsman's warehouse would certainly have my #1 pick by themselves, but I am a sucker for Mom and Pop shops..... So for now I have to leave it as a tie for my #1 pick. But I have a feeling a few more A+ visits may bump the mom /;pop shop to 2nd. Feel free to reach out if youd like to know which mom/pop shop tied them for my #1 gun & ammo shop , and CLICK 'FOLLOW' to keep up on the good and bad of local business new and old as I come across them. Also feel free to share with me your experiences to help give me a bigger picture of the stores, & their staff at their different locations. As always Support your Second Amendment, stay safe and Shop Smart fellow...
Read moreThe worlds worse service ever. I will never buy anything from them again. They have a big christmas sale going right now. I purchased a rifle online for about $500. I received an email that it was ready for pickup meaning, I had to go do the paperwork and then wait 10 days to pick it up. Today, I tried calling 3 times before I went in, no answer. On the final try someone answered and told me to come in they were open until 10pm for the holiday season. I drive about 50 miles from Huntington Beach to Corona took about an hour in traffic and money for gas. I got there at 7:30pm 2.5 hours before closing. I walk in there is only one guy behind the counter a bunch of people waiting, and no tickets it was empty (take a ticket to be helped) I went to the one guy behind the counter to tell him there were no tickets. He told me that if I did not already have a ticket that I would not get helped tonight. He told me I could come back tomorrow. This is 2.5 hours before closing. I told him my wife and I had just driven over an hour to get there from Huntington Beach and spent money for gas. He pointed to the other people that were waiting and told me some of them had been waiting for 3 hours. I asked him again, there is no way you can help me tonight? He said no. Mind you, I have a Turner's Outdoorsman a half a mile from my house, they always have 4 to 5 guys behind the counter. Here at Sportsmans Warehouse which is bigger than Turners they had only 1 guy behind the counter. I promptly told him to cancel my order and give me my money back. I am not going to spend $500 at a place, drive over an hour each way to get there and not be served. The people waiting for 3 hours to be served are chumps. No way would I ever wait 3 hours to give someone my money. These people do not deserve my money or business. If they keep treating customers like this, everyone will go elsewhere. The guy behind the counter cancelled my order I am sure I will get my money back soon. I will pay a few more bucks and go to a place where they actually want my money and will not treat me like this. I am not going to blame the one guy behind the counter it is not his fault. He did tell me that it has been like this for a couple of years there. Anyway there are plenty of other gun shops in Southern California that will not treat you like this. My wife and I drove another hour to get home....
