Every time I try to do business with these guys its been a bad experience.

1st experience was a while ago and I actually stopped going there over it. I was at the counter and it was early. I watched a clerk take packaged chicken, rip off the expire by sticker and re date the chicken. My initial purchase the day before was spoiled when I purchased it. When I went back to the store it was to speak to someone about the product quality and then I get to see why.

2nd Today I asked a friend to go get some round eye and he went here again. They don't have a meat slicer. They do however have the same meat already sliced to make jerky and it is more expensive. The concept of its sliced so it should cost more is ludicrous. Your a butcher shop and you should not be charging to slice meat. Moody's has been my go to and they are closed today. Moody's has never charged to slice or package a product the way I need it. They actually cut my white meat chicken every week for me. They package my super lean hamburger in 1/2 lbs packages and don't charge me any extra.

Buyers beware I will not give them a 3rd chance and its sad, I love to support local and with business practices like there's its super hard. Read the other low reviews and you will see a pattern.

Mike, I actually spoke to you when I had the first situation happen with the chicken. You assured me it wasn’t common practice.. You also told me that some official I don’t remember if it was from the health department or Purchased all of their meat from you because your meat was of such high quality. It’s OK if you want to dismiss my review, I could really care less. My review is not for you. It’s for...

Shameful behavior "went into staples meat market today to pick up our meat order. Everyone was so kind and so attentive about 5 people asked if they could help us within a minute which was amazing. But We were not even in there for 5 min when we heard some man talk really loud behind the meat coolers. His voice got louder and we looked that way the embarrassment of the staff you can see it all on their faces he was yelling “You will not be going through that back anymore everyone will be walking out through the front door” over and over and so many other derogatory things! Then he made a comment to one of the staff members saying “Yeah you will walk through the front you could use the exercise anyways” the way that kid walked to the back looking at us with such a sad face omg we couldn’t believe our ears! Then he proceeds to turn and demand a young lady to “Quickly Quickly” hurry to us to help us mind you he was yelling at her at this point when she was the one who helped us from the beginning and was amazing. I asked her “does he talk to y’all like this all the time” she silently nodded! I turned to him and I said she already has and she did an amazing job“ Then he says “Well she can just stand there then!” The humiliation behind her face I can just see it. I asked who he was just sitting there pointing fingers and yelling like that she said he was the owner 😡 and his name was MIKE! To the girl who helped us you know who you are never ever let anyone make you feel like you don’t have a VOICE all of yall deserve better!!!! Staples meat market has lost our business if you can’t value your employees we will not be supporting you!...

This is the second time I’ve had to return rotten/rancid steaks here. I bought 6 steaks, immediately vacuum sealed and froze 4, and cooked 2 within hours of purchase. My steak was fine, but my wife’s smelled and tasted rancid(even after cooking). Could not eat it. So I go to return the whole lot. The owner greets me at the door and upon hearing my story immediately gives me an attitude. As if I were lying and making this up. “Oh when did you freeze them””we sell thousands of pounds a week with no complaint” etc etc. I brought 4 steaks back, which is all I asked to be replaced(not the 2 I cooked which were thrown out) so I’m losing already. $36 of steaks is not going to bankrupt me. I was only looking for an even exchange. Same value. I was treated as street trash even though I’ve been coming here for EIGHT YEARS and the adult butchers recognize me. The story goes on but the truth is that I felt humiliated and looked down on by this man for something that was no fault of my own. Instead of swallowing his pride and owning up he chose to insult a long time customer and long time bbq’r who has spent thousands of dollars at his business over the years. I only post on here because he views these reviews obviously, and I would appreciate a response on these valid and warranted claims. Edit. He begrudgingly allowed me to exchange the cost of these items for other meat, with much attitude and doubt. You really treat your regulars this way? Your bread and butter? I felt like I was bartering for some A5 wagyu when in reality it was less than $40 worth of...

Weekly Ad: Armadillo Eggs are 1.08 My order: 10 Armadillo Eggs What my total should be: 10 x 1.08 = $10.80 Yesterday, I purchased 10 armadillo eggs and was charged $12.90 and it was rung up as “Stuffed Jalapeños”. Forgivable. Accidents happen. Today, I ordered 10 more armadillo eggs and was charged $14.90 with the code “Stuffed Jalapeño Seedless Loaded”. I immediately knew that price was different so I questioned. I was met by an extremely rude middle age man telling me “that’s the correct price and the correct coding”. Then he walked away. I was extremely heated at this point because this gentleman dismissed me and my concerns as well as incorrectly charged me for my order. Luckily, there was a young man willing to help me and correct the price of $10.80 using a “Miscellaneous” code. He is the only employee we worked with today who deserves 5 stars. The customer service during my original order was appalling and there can be no trust placed in a business that incorrectly prices their product multiple times. These item prices should not be up for interpretation based on how lacking the employee is or whatever they decide to code that day. In conclusion, same order, 3 different prices. Horrible customer service by the middle age employee, kind service from the young man. If you decide to shop here, check the coding on your product and use the calculator on your phone to check the price of your order.

I took my deer here this past season to get it processed and was pretty upset with the outcome. First, I asked for 15 lbs of breakfast sausage and only received 8 lbs (not a big deal). Secondly, I feel as if I didn't receive near the amount of meat I should have for the entire deer. I shot a similar sized deer a month prior and took it to a place called Schott's Meat Market in the Hill Country and received almost double the amount of meat I received from Staples Street. What really set me off was when I got home to unload the meat in my freezer, the "vacuum seal" they used was not properly sealed on any of my 2 lb packages of meat. There was blood all over the outside of the packages and inside my cooler. They must have had the amateur crew working that weekend. Lastly, I'm not saying it is or isn't because I can't prove it, but my ground venison tastes just like ground beef. Needless to say, I won't be taking meat here to be processed anymore. Response to owner: Here's a package of one that has blood on the label and air inside the "vacuum seal". You think I use my actual name on Google?

This is the worst place to buy meat. I also bought a container of Italian pasta salad and it was so full of oil, I had to throw the whole thing out. I also bought 2 bags of marinated chicken. When I opened them they smelled. After I cooked them they still smelled weird and tasted disgusting. I basically threw my money down the drain because I had to throw everything. Super gross. I will never go back. I went ahead and added some photos of the pasta salad with oil. I also added the ingredients list which states it has oil since the person that replied to my comment said it had vinegar. If you want to know why somenis missing its because it was served at dinner which no one ate because itbwas all bad. Maybe I'm being petty but, I don't think people should be conned out of their hard earned money for food that isn't any good.
