The 515 Bar — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

Came out here last night with my girlfriend and her friend. First impressions are pretty good. Its a nice small place for a bar. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the three bartenders but it was one female, a male with a cap and another guy had a shirt with an American flag on the side. When we sat down we were greeted by the female bartender. She was super chill and customer service was amazing. Me and my girl both got a Margarita flight, one frozen and one on the rocks. I paid cash and was charged $49 for both flights. A bit confusing because the sign said $22, I'm assuming I was charged tax or something? Either way I paid and still tipped. I personally didn't think the flights were worth the $49, but not gonna lie I've spent more just for the presentation on drinks and she did a great job with her presentation on the drinks. My last dink was a margarita in a Don Julio glass that was made by the guy with the American flag on his shirt. The presentation of the drink was disappointing, it was a huge mess I literally couldn't even take picture to post it on social media. There was this gentleman that seemed like a manager that kept wiping the table for me because how messy it was, he kept apologizing. We stayed till about 1130. Before leaving though, more people arrived and it seemed like there was miscommunication on a flight order. The guy with the American shirt got extremely upset and began cursing and tossing the wrong drink in the sinks that were literally right in front of the customers sitting at the bar. I don't know if he had a bad day, but behavior like that in a new establishments is wrong. That's my reason for removing the one star, but other than that we plan to try this place out again....

So in the current state, the bar is squeezed into a small bar area with wires dangling out of the ceiling and a general "sketchy" feeling to it over all. I was told by the bartender this was temporary as they work on the actual bar area.

I also noticed that when I purchased a beer, the bartender told me it was $4 for a bottle of Miller lite. I paid $5 and I noticed on the screen the change due to me was actually $1.50. I don't know what they are pulling, seems like the bartender may be pocketing the difference? Anyway this place gives me hood vibes.

In its current state, I cannot recommend it. Maybe try again in a couple months when they are...

I was there earlier today 5/9/2023, the drinks were the absolute worst. The guns weren’t cleaned properly and you could taste it thru the drinks. My glasses were dirty with lipstick not to mention the water tasted strait from the toilet. This was the second chance I gave this bar, the first time the OWNERS boyfriend or husband went in and beat up all staff working. This bar won’t make it. Be better people we want corpus to win but when owners who only care about making money it...
