Matt's Cavalcade of Comics, Cards, and Collectibles — Local services in Corvallis

This store is overflowing with comics, Magic cards, and paraphernalia. Friendly enough staff if you can break them away from the regulars that seem to dominate the clientele. Prices were very reasonable for a small locally owned shop. Paint supplies for miniature tabletop wargames was limited to one rack of Citadel paints. The selection of games was large and current. I think they had every comic known to man (not my thing, but the selection was huge).

One health related note- as someone who is highly allergic to cats, the whole store seemed covered in cat dander though. There was at least one cat free-roaming the store. That certainly cut down the time I took to browse in the amply supplied store. I would have liked to taken more time. Also, I've avoided this store for the past couple of years because of thier draconian rules on the 'vid, but they seem to have let up on that at least...

We have gone here a handful of time on our way through town. Over all I think they have a wide variety of new and older items as well as a good selection of collectibles to look at. HOWEVER all but one of the times we have gone have left us with a sour taste in our mouths. While they have a large selection of comics you can’t get to most of them because they are covered in clutter and badly organized. You have to ask for help to browse the stock in boxes and the staff are almost always busy. A lot of the older figures are hidden in a back room blocked by towers of other items and to far away to actually look at, again without help. And to top it all off the woman who has been there 4 out of the 5 times has been rude and snappy to customers and coworkers. It’s downright off putting. We won’t back. Have lots of stuff and staff is very helpful. Only problem is the place is a mess. Boxes are stacked on top of each other, T-shirts thrown over boxes, shelves packed with comics they fall on the floor, open packs of cards. They have a huge inventory but don't plan on finding anything yourself. There subscription service could use some work also. Put subscription in and came in a few weeks later to pick up and they hadn't put my order in and the form was still sitting on the computer, he was looking around for it when I pulled it off the top. I would also recommend against selling your old magic cards here. I was ripped off pretty bad a few years ago, sure wish they would have had the pricing sites like they do now and I could have came better informed about the true value of the cards I...
