My son attends to college and in the first two years we spent over $7000 at the store buying Oregon State apparel and supplies. We really much enjoyed buying new apparel every year. Twice now the general manager has made me feel like a common criminal. The first instance was when I tried to return a sweatshirt that had a tear in it And he said I self-inflicted it on the new sweatshirt. The implication was absolutely ridiculous. After a strong back-and-forth a compromise with struck to give me store credit. There should've been no discussion and no credit I should've been refunded. Most recently and the last time I'll ever visit the store is when a security guard shadowed me throughout the store because I was in my workout clothes. I am a near 70 year old professional Who does not shoplift and does not need a security guard shadowing me in the store. I know it wasn't policy but poor judgement by the guard, but when I confronted the general manager he seemed to be OK with the security guards doing what they were doing. An absolute overpriced Very dishonest establishment. They mistreat the students because they are students and feel they can get away with it. Very amazingly poor Treatment in a place like Oregon. They would never get away with it in a regular retail environment. I live-chatted with the store associates and received a response within 12 hrs that my book had just not arrived to the store yet but just got in and they would process it. I received the textbook the following morning. I was frustrated at first with the lack of information about where my textbook was but the follow through to get me my textbook very quickly after reaching out to the bookstore made me feel good about buying through osu bookstore again....
