I attended a lecture by Ed Yong about the human microbiome. He was plugging his fantastic new book "I Contain Multitudes." I have since bought and read most of this book. It is an excellent book that draws the audience's attention to an important facet of a healthy human: the microbiota. The venue and refreshments were good, though most of the refreshments were oblivious to considerations of ethics toward animals, resources, the diners' microbiota, and the environment by needlessly containing animal products, cooked refined oils, and refined sugars. Aside from my second-homes of the library and Wilkinson Hall, the MU is my go-to place when I need to study without interruptions, but still be within walking distance of coffee or other refreshments.
