I had a bad experience at this Valvoline and will not be a return customer and would caution others. I came here for an oil change on 5/5/24, technicians were friendly & professional in conducting the service. I have no complaints there. At the end of my service however, when new customers started queueing up outside and the techs were starting to get a little frantic, the technician who was servicing the adjacent bay came over to assist with finishing up my service. He was a bigger guy who had difficulty latching my truck’s hood on his first two attempts so on his third and final attempt, he slammed the hood down extra hard, much harder than I have ever slammed it myself. The force used surprised me as it caused a slight air pressure change in my cab, where I was seated. I wasn’t happy about that but, whatever, I didn’t say anything and drove away thinking I was good to go. No harm, no foul. Unfortunately for me, the next day after work, I came out to my truck to discover green engine coolant having pooled on the pavement underneath the radiator. Upon investigation, I discovered that the plastic end cap on the radiator was leaking coolant fluid from some unseen crack(s?). I popped the radiator cap and the coolant level was low. I never had any leaks from my radiator prior to this. Ever.
So I filed a claim with Valvoline Customer Service and today, 5/13/24, the station manager called me to say he was denying my claim and would offer no assistance. He said he determined from their closed circuit video that they were not responsible. He stated my vehicle was old, that the tech could not have possibly slammed the hood hard enough to cause any damage to the radiator...the tech did not raise the hood high enough, did not slam it hard enough and they slam hoods like that every day, blah, blah, blah. It was just a complete denial of any responsibility, which to be honest, is what I expected from such an outfit.
Still, I am disappointed with myself that I did not do the oil change, which I usually do. In fact, this was the first time I have let a service station do my oil in over 5 years. I went in for new oil and came out needing a new radiator. Not a great experience and I won’t be back again. So if you do go here, hope nothing goes wrong because they will deny any...
Read moreTerrible terrible customer service, would rate O stars if possible. We will not use another valvoline again after years and years of services. They did a transfer case job on my wife's car. Months later we had to take in to a real mechanic because the transfer case plug was missing. Our actual mechanic told us to look back in our records and if an oil change place have done a transfer case service it would 100% be because of that. They said even it being months after the service, plugs don't just fall out and it is definitely on the oil change place. After looking in our records valvoline had done a transfer case service. After doing "their" research Valvolines managers Bo and George called my wife to say that they had denied the claim and refused to take any responsibility for their mistake. They are nationally owned corporation and will happily have a family pay $2500 out of their own pockets instead of owning up to their mistakes and coming to some sort of middle ground . If you need anything besides an oil change, do not go here! They are not real mechanics and do not own up to their mistakes!! Go to a real mechanic!!...
Read moreThis is a mix, Corvallis branch did not reattach our skid plate correctly which made it come of and hit something making our Air conditioner we just made sure was in perfect order before taking a potentially dangerous trip during a heat wave stop functioning. Because of this we spent 3 hours with a small child in a car without any AC in which the typical temperature was 119 outside. Horrible trip. We went to the Coeur d'Alene location as sent by their 800 number and explained what happened. They saw the issue apologized and took care of us. The staff bent over backwards gave us water, a cool place to stand, and stayed late to help. Outstanding job and we appreciate those guys a ton. We will never go to the Corvallis branch again after they replace the plate they destroyed and feel we should consider take legal action. We took extreme steps to ensure we would be covered and because they did not take time to finish right we all got extremely dehydrated and sick ruining the trip.
