This is the sign you’ve been waiting for!!! I get my color done by Michael and cuts by Lindsay and they are both absolutely amazing. Let me start by saying that I am VERY particular about my hair. I moved from LA to Orange County about 5 years ago and for the first 2 years, I drove to La crescenta to get my hair done by my tried and true stylist. Why? Because let’s face the truth. A lot of stylists are terrible at bleaching asian and dark hair. Not Michael. He is a God when it comes to coloring. He’s literally that good. That’s the only way I can explain his talent. He takes one look at your hair, I show him a picture of what I’m looking for and he slays every single time. Colors that I didn’t think were achievable because for 10 years no one else could do it. Think J.Lo caramel and icy blondes. That’s right. I go every 5 months and the grow out is beautifully blended and it still looks incredible. Is it expensive? Yes but quality isn’t cheap and neither are you. Treat yo’self! Lindsay on the other hand is a master cut specialist. (Is that correct terminology?) she’s a shear master! she asks you what you want and she nails it every time. My hair goes from mop to bouncy, textured and voluminous. She cuts the perfect amount where it still looks full but with so much movement. You know how you know it’s a good haircut? You put your hair in a messy bun and then you take it out and it looks like you got a beach wavy blowout. Every time! Also should mention that I love this salon. Everyone is so nice, they all seem to vibe well and you can feel it as soon as you step in. Parking is fantastic. They have their own lot so you never have to worry and it is sparkling clean. I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Emily. From poor communication to a completely botched color and cut to booking 4 clients within my service and charging me $520, this experience was unacceptable.

I booked my appointment over a month in advance, but Emily never confirmed it. After multiple attempts to reach her, she finally responded the day before, changed my appointment time, and then sent a confirmation.

During the appointment, she constantly handed me off to Chloe without explanation. Chloe was visibly confused at times, but she had to step in because Emily was overbooked. I should have been told upfront that someone else would be handling most of my hair.

The worst part was the color. Emily left the root blend on too long, causing my scalp to burn and completely ruining my highlights. Even Chloe noticed something was wrong before Emily did. When she finally checked, she was shocked at how dark and orange my roots had become. Instead of properly fixing it, she applied more bleach to the front to try to cover it up and told me to "use purple conditioner" when I got home.

The haircut was just as bad. I asked for long curtain bangs and a full, blended look but ended up with a choppy cut and bangs that are way too short. To make matters worse, I was overcharged what was supposed to be a partial highlight was billed as a full balayage.

I reached out about my concerns, but Emily didn’t respond for four days. This experience has been terrible and the salon owner Michael has been unresponsive throughout this entire process.

There are so many high end salons in Newport the same price and better quality. Please go to another salon! Michael, the owner, has been rude through out this entire process. He told me I should have said something before I left and that I am not entitled to a refund. Her assistant, Stephanie, was equally kind and attentive. Together, they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, cared for, and understood. By the end of the appointment, I walked out not just loving my hair, but feeling like I had gained two new friends.
