There's nothing wrong with Jared. This review is specifically for this store location.
My fiancé had bought me an engagement ring from the Cerritos location and they were wonderful. Our initial experience prompted us to return to Jared to get our wedding bands. However we ended up going into this Costa Mesa location instead since they had more variety of alternative metals.
We first worked with MARK. He's great. We found a ring for my fiancé but since it was the first place we wanted to shop around. After looking, we wanted to go back to Jared to order his size. Unfortunately MARK wasn't working when we returned. So MARIA assisted us.
MARIA started off fine showing us the alternative metal selection trying to find the original ring my fiancé wanted which we did find. We asked to order it in his ring size. During this process, I looked at possible wedding bands that would go with my engagement ring. I didn't find find anything that went well with my ring though so I asked her if she could check if my ring came with a matching wedding band since I bought it at Jared. This is when it hits the fan.
I didn't realize but this is where her track of mind changed from concentrating on my fiancés titanium wedding band for my platinum wedding band. She told us that she would have to get back to us about my ring after speaking to corporate about pricing and if a matching set is available. So we left the store thinking my fiancés ring had been ordered to size and that she would call me back regarding my wedding band.
I was wrong. My fiancé received a call about a week later from MARIA stating they were able to make a matching platinum ring for me. She said nothing about my fiancés ring. We waited another week but no calls were returned regarding my fiancés ring.
Today we went back and spoke to a different salesperson because quite frankly we were disappointed with MARIA. Basically my fiancés ring was not ordered and to make matters worse the ring was gone at the store and online so we were back to the beginning of the searching period!!!!!!! The cherry on top was that the Asian guy that helped us the third time didn't empathize with us one bit for the fact that MARIA failed to even make a note on our account the ring that my fiancé asked her to make an order for.
Yes, I'm going to make an assumption here but MARIA didn't treat every transaction to be important. Rather she put dollar signs on each transaction and since my fiancés ring is only $100 she focused more on mine which would be in the $1000s.
SO FRUSTRATED DURING WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST TIME OF...

I came in to get my ring sized up because I’m pregnant and didn’t want to go a year without being able to wear my ring.
Overall I’m disappointed in the service I received, usually people are really nice to me knowing I’m pregnant but I was sorta left standing there for 30 mins as they showed me my serial number, hid my serial number with polish, hid my serial number with the actual prong, and etc. overall it was not a good experience but I wouldn’t have minded if they were nice about it…. instead they made me feel like a Karen because I didn’t tell the associate when I dropped the ring off not to move the prongs during the resizing (I didn’t know resizing would mean they would move the prongs back and hide the serial number. When I dropped it off, the serial number was visible and sorta assumed that it would still be visible upon pickup.) anyways, it’s not that the hidden serial number that upset me it was just the way I was treated like it was my fault they had to do all the extra work to unhide the serial number. They had to go back to the lab maybe 5+ times to get it corrected… They did NOT go above and beyond to ensure I had a good experience and I had to keep asking them to make the ring the way it was when I dropped it off which really sucks. 💔
Also it’s really weird they always ask me if my engagement ring was a trade in. When my fiancé proposed he didn’t tell me “oh, by the way, I traded in a different ring for this ring.” So how am I supposed to know it’s a trade in? Shouldn’t you know because he bought it from you guys and it should be noted in the account /phone number provided???? 🤷🏻♀️ tell me how this...
Read moreWent there recently and were judge instantly by associate named GEMMA BARDIAU. We asked if we could get our ring sizes and look at rings and she looked at us like we were crazy for asking that question and pretty much made it seem like they don't do that (when they are a JEWELRY store)and she rudely asked if we had an appointment but then she proceeded to act like we were worthless and had no money even though surprise surprise we could afford most of the rings offered at that location but she decided to not even give us the light of day when it came to looking at rings. She asked our budget and then said there didn't have anything for that price but said they had some bands for that price but then came back with one of the UGLIEST rings we have ever seen and acted like that ring was gorgeous. She obviously had no taste and manners. You could tell she was not even wanting to spend anytime helping us. Word of advice to GEMMA BARDIAU and the Mangers at that store is that they need to treat everyone and anyone with respect and dignity especially when your business relies on PEOPLE and customer satisfaction as a main source of income. It pretty safe to say that they have a lot of room to grow and I only hope they use this as a learning experience so that it would never happen to anyone else. BUT lets be real its probably not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. And to GEMMA BARDIAU you really are horrible at your job and should probably get some lessons in manners and customer relations. (: Thanks NO...
