The White Hare — Local services in Cottleville

I've shopped at the White Hare for years and have purchased many seasonal decorations I continue to enjoy putting in my home. This store is laid out in a way that inherently inspires great decorating ides. However, the furniture is outrageously expensive for pieces that are not real wood and obviously cheap looking.

I was recently looking for a table for my entryway and the White Hare had a piece in the dimensions I was searching for that was listed for $1,300. I was floored the cost was so high because it looked cheap and the material of the piece which was supposed to look like real wood, looked clearly fake. Conversely, Create and Barrel sells a similar piece for the same price as the one at White Hare but the Crate and Barrel piece is solid wood. There's something about a store that grossly overprices its obvious low-quality items that makes me inclined to take my business elsewhere. This coupled with the fact that I find many of the staff to be unfriendly and the return policy unreasonable means I do not recommend...

The have the worst customer service when it comes a return policy. I bought holiday ribbon and wanted to EXCHANGE the ribbon for different design. The receipt says SPECIFICALLY "xmas final sale dec 9". They will not honor this. I wanted to exchange on the 8th. They said there are signs everywhere that say the 5th. When I pointed out the receipt says the 9th, she said, " I do not know, I don't make the receipts." By the way, there are signs everywhere by the cash register; there are so many you don't know where to look. Most importantly, no one ever stated verbally this "new date" of the 5th when I was checking out. How is a customer supossed to know that you have to look at the signs and NOT the receipt. I would never go bakc here again. If you are slightly hesitant, they will change the return policy on you. Plus, they were over-priced; I found almost all of the same Christmas items for less in West...

What a bummer.. this store was great but has terrible customer service. We bought a Lantern, the lantern was on sale and was also pre decorated inside. The women proceeded to take out all the decorations inside and charging me full price for them. There was one fourth of a floral stem and she wanted to charge me for the whole stem! She then shoved it all back in there with out rearranging it. I bought it because of the beautiful decor inside.. now it’s all messed up! I tried my best to make it look nice but it way prettier before she took it all out! Then.. My mother came in hours afterwards, bought the same lantern and all the same decor separately to decorate hers, herself and it was cheaper then buying the pre decorated one that had the partial...
